Well I have certainly looked younger than my age for a lot of my life, I will be 23 on March 12 and I look like I am 17 to 19. For years I often got carded at bars, buying alcohol and tobacco products. When I started university last year at 22, nobody thought I was a mature aged student, they assumed I just graduated from High School.

Even when I look at pictures of myself at age 13 and 18, a looked more like an 11 year old when I was 13 or a 15 or 16 year old when I was almost 19.

Apparently, people think I am younger than my age. On many occasions this year, I was treated as a under-18 years old girl (by official people: doctors, mayor assistants....) And I am 21, nearly 22.

But, on a less frequent basis, people act as if I was a fully grown up woman, not as if I were a girl or young woman : I get called "madame" instead of "mademoiselle", but in the other hand, some people spontaneously say "tu" instead of "vous"... (Usually, a grown up adressing to a kid or teenager they don't know will say "tu" for "you". Two grown ups who are strangers to each other will say "vous".)

Very weird!

I've been told many times I look younger then I am by people by a couple of years or so. Then again there are also others who tell me I look older/about my age so I guess it depends. I can pass for 19 (apparently) when I wear make-up and certain clothes (I'm 17), but I don't do that often so I don't often look older. I guess it varies from younger to around my age.

Hi, That is another interesting question..my hubby keeps saying I look younger all the time..:) I am 39 but I could pass for young 30's...inside I feel like I am in my 20's still..knees are cracking, back hurts,etc...The first time I heard that question was on this forum maybe a week ago, and I also wondered about it.....

hi all, i look soo young that when i go into a deli the owner attempts to call the local high school or middle school to ask if they have a missing student,(actually almost happened) i went into a deli to buy a hoagie one day during the hours schools are in session and owner said what are you doing out of school?? im going to call and see if they know your out!!
i said no no i graduated already in 2002 they are just going to tell you she graduated. i look like im about 14 or 15. my real age is 21

it seems weird how most with aspergers appear younger then actual age i guess its part of the delay in development of physical body structure.

I'm 20 and I cannot leave anywhere without my ID. In regular clothing I look around 13 or 14, but in nice clothes and make-up I can look 17. It's a pain in the butt when I tell pepole my age because they never believe me.

When my face is clean-shaven, I am mistaken for 16. When I have facial hair, people think I'm 25.

I look about my age (21), though a beard adds about ten years. But I'm clean-shaven most of the time.

I look about 16. I'm 22.

Now that I think about it, the shaved head probably makes me look older. But the hair will grow back, and I'll be questioned as to whether I'm 18 whenever I go to look at the swords at Ren Faires. (You aren't allowed to handle them if you're not 18.)

Well, I've heard from a couple people that I don't look my age, like I'm a freshman or something (in high school). But then I've heard from some that I look my age. I've heard from more people that I look younger, so maybe I do look younger than I actually am, at the age of 17 and a junior in high school.
