If I get obsessed with a song I put my ipod on repeat, since I am able to listen to my ipod all day at work, it goes on for days sometimes with just one song, and then one day out of the blue I'll put it back to random under another song hits me. I never really thought anything about it until this girl at work said to me one day, "hey do you want to trade ipods for the day, I'm curious to see what kind of music your into", of course this happened to be one of those days that my ipod was set to 'repeat one', it dawned on me about 15 minutes later, so I went to her an mentioned it and she replied "yeah I figured it out after a couple of times". I was a little embarrassed, but would have been more embarrassed if she had known I was onto my third day of listening to it

I do at times, but my mother who I now feel was an aspie use to rock in a rocking chair for hours and sometimes all night, especially after Elvis died, now if ever here Elvis records try not to listen to, brings back bad memories..... as an aspie child uncontrollable sound no fun either!

I have a rocking chair which I rock in when I'm tired. I also listen to the same song - The Photographer by Phillip Glass - over and over again. Usually on the way home from work - it calms me down.

ONe of the things that I do when I am working at my home studio is to prepare a short little riff or sometimes third or half of a tune and have that loop play over and over. Oftentimes, I loop this for hours before I figure out where I want to go next, though it is just to hear it repeat over and over.

Yes I often listen to the same albums over and over again in the car and on my ipod
If I find something I love, I see no harm in wanting to listen to it as much as I can.

I have before. Back when I lived in Montana, I had to drive everywhere to get to places. I always played my Benny & Joon soundtrack in my car. I also did the same when I be on trips and I would listen to it in my CD player through my head phones.
I listened to a few songs over and over on one of my Christmas albums on the way home on Wednesday. Only three times and then I move on to the next song.

My mother does this too. I can remember her listening to Eric Clapton over and over and she play the "Tears in Heaven" on repeat. I remember I got so sick of it, I wrecked her CD. Dad bought her a new one that Christmas. Sure the CD still worked but the end of her favorite song skipped but she was still bothered by it. She also liked playing that 500 Miles song over and over on my CD when we listen to my B&J soundtrack in my car. I didn't mind if course since I also like that song. Now I don't think she has done it in a while because I don't know if she listens to CDs. I don't think the player works in her Saab and I don 't know if they plays any in her house.

Oh yes! Not sure how to explain but when I listen to music I love I kinda see it in textures, like water, air, light, sometimes the effect is so beautiful on the right track, I'll play it over and over to repeat the experience, it's like really good chocolate cake, once isn't enough!! !

I've been a Verdi-addict, a Beethoven-addict, a Stravinsky-addict, etc...The list goes on. I listenen to ''Nabucco'' for four days, also in class, and I refused to turn it off.

Turn of the earworm topic

I will play the same song over until I have memorized every single note and the arrangement, includin all the instruments, beat, rhythm, etc. Then it will be an earworm in my head to loop over and over. Now this can be done on an IPOD, but I did it years ago!!

I can listen to a song I really like maybe 5 times in a row. After that, move on to the next one. I have an NT friend who likes to listen to the same song for hours on end, over and over. I get ready to scream after about 30 minutes of it, even if she's playing a song that I like. I suggest that we play a few other songs then come back to the song in question just to break the pattern.

I do it sometimes.

Five times or five hours, depends on my mood and the song.

The one of my brothers and my father did it as well, but I doubt they are AS.

I guess you could say I do, I don't listen to music much but listen to the ones I like rather often. Mostly it's cartoon music that I listen to.

No, only because I wouldn't want to get bored of the song.
