I'm currently typing this response up and I'm breathing as well. I'm such a good multi-tasker! lol

Okay, seriously. I'm going to have myself an "iCarly" marathon today! :)

I'm trying to gather statistics for our state representative, listen to my boss and coworker chat about another coworker, and reading this. I'm also trying to keep my brain quiet about having to go to court today. Oh, and various bits of sundry zombie trivia just popped in to visit. Yeah.

Substitute teaching.

Today it is high school band and orchestra, which is really a lot of fun. I like being around other musicians.
Being a substitute is all of the good and very little of the bad that is involved in the practice of teaching. Although socially intimidating at first, I have learned to cultivate various personalities depending on the group of students I am working with. I have a variety of useful figurative hats I can wear. In a theatrical way, it's fun to interact in the complex dramatic play that is every classroom in every school. It's also a microcosm, and very interesting sociologically. Doing this job, I have found a comfortably-detached place where my responsibilities and social commitments are never overwhelming, the work can be immensely enjoyable, and I am forming a small network of professional acquaintences that may help me to land a full-time teaching job which, at the very least, would pay the bills right now.

I'm currently sitting in my school's library, reading House of Leaves and listening to The Mars Volta. I got distracted by the computers around me and decided to play some games and check up on this forum.
