 Come let us play fantasy for a moment. If aliens came to this earth in search of some sort of wacky affair, do you think they would be intrigued by aspies, more so than generic Joe, the typical human?

What would they want us for? Would they seek out sanctuary for us and exceed our demands? Or would we be seen as a universal threat and be exterminated?

 Let us discuss! Woooot!

I personally think that we would capture or even kill them before they entered our atmosphere.

Would the aliens notice any difference at all? Probably not.

They'd realize their attempt at genetically reforming the species is still dreadfully incomplete.

We are aliens. Come on, everybody knows that. :? It's only a matter of time until we find the transgalactic teleportation machine that'll help us get back to our home planet. :) Are you OK? Is your memory acting up or something? :o

I agree.

Autistics may feel like aliens, but are not aliens. Who knows what life from another planet/galaxy/etc would be like? It's more likely that they would be so unknowledgable of human culture (which differs in different regions, races, etc as it is) that they wouldn't see people with AS as any different from NTs. Maybe with further study it would be observed (the same way we observe animals, for example) but there's no telling how different or alike an alien's thought-pattern and way of percieving/existing would be.

When the aliens would arrive, they'd hear bag pipes, accordians, harmonicas, banjos, rap, and screamo--and if they'd have the intelligence to build a starship capable of travelling to other galaxies, then one'd hope they'd have the good sense to ditch this doomed planet just from that.

Either that our they'd just terraform it to a landscape that they'd be able to live on, killing everyone anyway. Far as they'd be concerned--Aspie, NT, whatever, still a carbon unit, still a human, still made out of meat! (Oh, the horror of that idea!)

I think that an Aspie would make a great "tour guide" for an alien. Human culture would be pretty inexplicable to someone who doesn't even share our biology; but an Aspie, who is outside the dominant culture but exposed to it every day, might be able to bridge the gap between human and alien.

That is assuming that the alien would be more logical than we are; if they are more emotional than NTs, then we will simply end up in a war, and probably exterminated, after some perceived slight.
