When I was a child I got sick on peas once, and they haven't been a favorite food of mine since.

I don't like cottage cheese, bananas unless in banana pudding, or many fruits unless in a pie. Lima beans and butter beans aren't a favorite either.

I dislike the Mexican spice cilantro---tastes like a chemical or metal to me.

Though I have nothing against the flavor of coconut, I don't really like the texture of it on pies, cookies, etc.

I don't care much for raisins or beets.

Though my wife prefers multi-grain and healthier loaves of bread from the store, I prefer plain white bread.

I guess I'm a pickier eater than I thought. There are other foods too, but this is enough for now.

Wow I forgot about cottage cheese, that may be the foulest nightmare food of all times for me. No way I ever have taken a bite of that. I can't stand to even look at cottage cheese and am repulsed just by its name.

I don't like mushy pasta and hate pasta when it's cooked in a slow cooker.
I don't like dried out well done meat either. I don't like cooked onions. Cooked onions can ruin stew or soup, unless the onion is diced, then I can handle it. I can't handle rings or chunks.

I like peas.

Don't like shaved coconut. Gnarly texture...feels like wood chunks.

Someone mentioned chicken wings. I don't like to eat chicken where I have to navigate tendons and veins. I prefer to cook my own chicken - can't eat chicken sandwiches or Chinese food with chicken.

Ironically - I LOVE chicken skin. Like KFC original recipe. I'd just eat the skin and leave the meat - if there were no witnesses to my disgusting wastefulness.

I don't care for the internal texture of peas when you have a whole mouthful. I only eat them when they're mixed with something else.

I have a lot of food hang ups. "mushy" food in general makes me gag.

Marshall and I have exactly the same reaction to mouthfuls of peas. We can only eat them if they're mixed with something else, because that neutralizes the horrible, mouthful-of-mush feeling.

Shaved coconut is chewy and tastes good. That makes it the antithesis of loose peas. My favorite Girl Scout cookies are the Samoas because I can eat just one, then chew the coconut for the next 15 minutes.

I like sweetened, shaved coconut when it's on something, but I only like it inside baked food unless it's had a chance to lose some of the texture. When it loses the texture and blends it can be heavenly.
I don't like rice pudding. It's anathema. I can't deal with the tiny pieces of rice ruining the smoothness of the pudding.
I like Tapioca pudding, flan, and bread pudding. It's rice pudding I can't handle.
I love custard too.

Textures give me a hard time, like the fuzz on peaches. I love peaches, but only peeled or canned, because if any of that peach skin fuzz gets in my mouth (especially if I feel it rub on the inside of my cheek), I will FLIP OUT!

I also have trouble with potato skins, and pears. Nothing against the flavor, but that gritty texture is like fingernails-on-a-chalkboard to me.

I have a lot of autistic issues with all textures, anyways, not just in foods. I go into my little dream zone when I feel anything soft or squishy, but rough scratchy things give me the creeps severely.

Once as a child my mom tried to make me wear an itchy taffeta dress, and I had a major "spaz attack", like I was the Tazmanian devil in a cartoon, LOL.

I hated peas when I was a child, but as an adult, I can swallow them whole. I do not mind the exterior (it's tasteless and just has a smooth/slick texture), but I cannot stand the interior. I am the same with baked beans.

I cannot breathe in the same room as cooked mushrooms.

I despise English peas. They resemble nothing so much as fat, blood-engorged ticks. I also loathe dairy products aside from fresh, cold milk. butter, icecream, and sone aged cheeses. To me, sour cream is the worst of all. It smells like pus. Other unappealing foods include shellfish and the winter squashes.

I can understand that. Peach fuzz vaguely reminds me of sticky felt. It has a kind of dry clingy feel on the gums and inside of my mouth, like it sucks up all the saliva. I tolerate the fuzz if it's a really good juicy tasty peach but if the taste isn't all that the fuzz becomes a major turn off.

Nectarines FTW! I really prefer these to peaches, too.

I don't really have any food issues. Well, there's a particular sort of bologna-and-cheese that makes me shudder to look at it; but anything with a smooth surface and small protrusions will do that to me. I could eat it if I hid it between two slices of bread, which I have done already. I suppose that would be a visual aversion.

The fuzz doesn't bother me but I'm not crazy about the texture of the flesh. Same thing with mangos.

I must say, this is the longest discussion about peas I've ever seen.

I have mixed feelings about peas. I mean, I'm okay with them. I actually don't really know what they taste like.. I haven't eaten them plain in ages. I do love split pea soup though.

I have Issues with certain textures (like most of you probably), and ketchup and mustard and mayonnaise. I cannot stand condiments. I have such a hard time ordering sandwiches at fast food places.. trying to order something plain BUT *with* cheese and bacon or whatever else is not a condiment. When my mom brings home fast food and I found they messed up my sandwich, I almost always have a brief little conniption fit because it's *RUINED*. I cannot just scrape the disgusting fluid off of it-- the flavor still remains. Oh and if there was a picke on it, there is NO HOPE anyway because pickle juice is very pungent and will remain. HOW does anyone enjoy such flavors? I will never know. But I digress.
