My husband and I are having trouble finding a profession that he feels comfortable in. His special interest is film, but so far he has not found a way to create a career around it. We live in a rural place and want to raise our children here. We also have a son with Asperger's and thus far feel it is best to homeschool him. This means that we have one full-time income and one part-time income. Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue? We would appreciate any you might have.

Ok,so film interest him. But you are leaving out his skills.

Does he wrote well? Does he produce original videos/film well? good at running/creating websites?

How much money you thinking... $20K/year or $80K/year? Just a ballpark goal.

What's his training and learning related to film?

Tough one.

Selecting one's work is so individual an endeavor.

Ideally one crafts one's life to fit one - rather than putting oneself into someone's idea of what you should be doing.
But it is rare, as so many of us must make lasting decisions when we are young and as yet undefined.

If the objective is short-term bread on the table, then there is little need to plan. Simply do.

Something grander really needs to emerge from within though.
