Okay I admit it.. I still sleep with stuffed animals and I HAVE to have a particular book under my pillow  I can't explain it but this is a need that I have. Anyone here still need to sleep next to objects? I am almost 34 and this trait is not going to change anytime soon.

That's cool, and it's cool that we can share it here. I have to have a pillow for under my head, a pillow for over my head, a pillow for "next to me", and earplugs in. This is true for wherever I go, and if that many pillows aren't available, then I substitute with whatever is (jacket, towel etc.). I slept with books under my pillow in high school, it was kind of a superstition thing before exams. I thought I was the only one in the world who did that.

I used to sleep with stuffed animals for along time, I guess I just started to stop when they started disappearing.

I still sleep with a nightlight though, I just feel comfortable with it on, and throughout my past I never saw a reason why I had to start putting it away at some point in time.

I started sleeping with a fan on also, and I can't sleep well without one now, I hate dead silence when going to sleep, just the ringing sound in my ears is annoying. I like the sound and feel of the wind blowing around the room.

I still do that myself just with pillows.

I love the coldness under the pillows and I like to have something next to me when my cat is not there

Thanks for sharing LucidDreamGod, I also need to sleep with a fan.. in fact I know it's comforting for a lot of people. Fan background noise is also known as white noise. Ebonwinter, I love the cold feeling under the pillows too, something comforting about that. Thanks for sharing Last2Know... it is great this is the one place we can share these interesting secrets about ourselves :)

I prefer to have something with me. I sleep with my stuffed Clifford. I can tell I had used him a lot because he looks all worn. I used to sleep with my baby blanket but I was wearing it out and it was from when I was a baby and I didn't want it to go to the trash if I wore it out. If I forget my stuff animal on trips, I cuddled with my arms or grab onto my pillow.

My stuff animals I sleep with have changed from time to time. I have been sleeping with Clifford for maybe two years now.

I have slept with music on off and on and a pacifier. I sometimes feel I want something in my mouth so I use them. I sometimes want something on to listen too so there is my PSP. I haven't slept with music lately because my bf and I started to sleep in the same bed again. I use my ear plugs to block out most of his snoring so no point in music, plus he can't sleep with it on and I would have to have it blaring in the headphones so I can hear it through my ear plugs and that would keep him up.

Thanks for sharing... interestingly enough I failed to mention earlier that I need my earplugs too while the fan is on! Not sure why, but I know I need it or I won't sleep!

I sleep with a fan at high-speed with my arms wrapped around my big plush apatosaurus. I've had the dino for 3 years now, and the poor thing is worn pretty good now. My biggest problem while sleeping is sudden light. Worse now since the timing of one of the street lamps outside is messed up so it keeps flickering.

As well as pillows under my head, I have a couple of pillows on either side of me. If they aren't there, I feel like I'm going to fall out of bed.

I generally sleep with a pistol in reach to deal with burglars. So far it's working out fine, no burglars yet. :D

I love my stuffed animals. Since I was a baby, I have a stuffed animal dog that always sleeps on my neck and I have a mickey mouse doll also since I was a baby that sleeps on or next to the top of my face. it is a sensory thing. It helps me sleep a lot better. Without my "babies", i have a hard time falling sleeping and/or staying asleep. I also sometimes use a pacifier which helps calm me when I have anxiety and can not fall asleep. The pacifier reminds me of a simpler time(when i was younger) when i did not have anxiety. It gives me the baby feeling that calms me down. Being a baby calms me because babies(especially when i was one) have an easier life and they are so carefree. My stuffed animals are soft and soft things calm me down.

I'm 22 years old, and I still sleep with stuffed animals. My main one is a large panther. I just feel like something is missing when I don't have something to hold. When I was staying at my aunt's for a while, I had to get a stuffed animal so I could sleep better.
