More evidence to back up my case. IQ tests do not say anything about your potential or how well you will do in school. I'm sure there's a 900 number to a psychic that can tell you your future if you really want to know. IQ only shows what you know right now.

Yes, I agree.

And I highly doubt anyone on this board has an IQ score of 200+ when Einstein himself only had an estimated IQ score of 185 (I think it was - correct me if I'm wrong anyone).

Unlike some dishonest people in here (IQ of 200+, yeah right!), I went with my high school score: 126. However, there were three factors that I believe would nullify that result: 1) I have anxiety (very extreme on tests) and could not focus, 2) at the time, I had a cold, and 3) There was one part of the test I was afraid of, so I didn't do it. It had to do with finding patterns in visual objects and predicting what the next one would be. Therefore, this would place me in the "superior" range. Yet, I also have peaks and valleys; i.e. certain sub test results were considerably high, and others were low. So the average of all of those subtests resulted in 126. I believe it was the WAIS-R test I took at the age of 18. For comparison...famous people in my IQ range that are known I know of two:

David Bowie = 125
Richard P. Feynmann = 125 (according to "Genius" by James Gleick, page 30)

Bottom line? Does it really matter? One with an IQ of 170 could easily spend his life drinking and partying, or counting toothpicks for fun, while another with an IQ of 116 could be the president of the United States (such as Kennedy, who had that IQ)

I can. ;)

My IQ was so high that they were incapable of even calculating an estimate using modern measures. Officially, it is labelled 10,000+. I have a personal Secret Service squad formed especially to protect me by the government while I'm developing a medication to produce immortality, building the world's first teleportation machine, establishing an intergalactic society, and creating a new universe - in my spare time. 8)

its not always that easy, sometimes people are happier to be doing less than their potential. Particularly if they are having problems in society as a result of a higher intelligence.

200+ IQ, you should be able to think outside of the box enough to do SOMETHING.

No...not necessarily. They still have aspergers. Need to spend some time on here conecting with similar people

And don't forget all the work you do on the WP in your spare time's spare time. Oh, and we already have a teleportation machine, as seen on tv (star trek). So, I assume you mean you are building one that's more affordable to the average Joe.

did anyone post this yet? if not:

Quote:
The scale, properly speaking, does not permit the measure of intelligence, because intellectual qualities are not superposable, and therefore cannot be measured as linear surfaces are measured.
—Binet, 1905

Alfred Binet was an early intelligence test designer.

from http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/binet.shtml
Quote:
Binet was upfront about the limitations of his scale. He stressed the remarkable diversity of intelligence and the subsequent need to study it using qualitative as opposed to quantitative measures. Binet also stressed that intellectual development progressed at variable rates, could be impacted by the environment and was therefore not based solely on genetics, was malleable rather than fixed, and could only be used on children with comparable backgrounds.
