I used to have exactly the same lunch, breakfast and dinner but lately I started having different sandwiches for lunch each day as I heard it's bad not to mix it up a little bit. If I tried having all different things constantly like most people it would cause me ENORMOUS stress and upset, I'm just terrible at making decisions and being spontaneous! This works for me and my diet is quite balanced at least. :)

I have only a few foods I eat. I eat my favorite foods in order of how favorite they are by what is in the house. If my top favorite food is there, I eat it no matter what. Then go to second favorite food. If none of my favorite foods are in the house, I don't eat or get upset and throw fits. I just can't eat anything else.

Ahh. May be not-unusual for aspies?
There are days I only want to eat one type of food all day.
Glad to hear there's others.

I go through phases of eating the same food everyday, but the foods change.
I've been having toast with peanut butter for breakfast everyday lately and before this food, it was a banana for breakfast everyday. That's the only meal where I have the same thing each day.

While my mother's been ill over the past week, I've had to cook my own dinner. I had the same thing (boiled eggs and toast) every day.

On that note: when selecting two eggs from the fridge, I spend ages trying to get two that are roughly the same colour and size. Does anyone do this?

I've eaten a grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast nearly every day since I was like 6. It doesn't really stress me if I have to eat something else, and sometimes I welcome the change if it's something special, but it's what I like. Lunch and dinner varies from day to day, and it doesn't bother me.

I almost always eat Shredded Wheat for breakfast.

I went about 2 weeks with out any wheat products to test the gluten intolerance theory, and didn't notice any difference, so it's back to Shredded Wheat every morning.

I do this with other food (I don't eat eggs) such as slices of bread, tomatoes and asparagus. Also if something I want to eat isn't the right size, I will cut it into the right size, including cutting my bread into perfect squares before I toast it. I don't know why. :?

I don't eat the same food every day but I do enjoy simple food the best. Beans on toast, cheese on toast, egg and chips etc. When I go out for a meal I pick the simplest thing on the menu and incidentaly this is often the cheapest meal on the menu. Fellow diners always think I'm being tight fisted but it's just that I like to taste what I eat. I reckon if I blindfolded my dining partners and swapped around their meals half of them wouldn't even notice the swap.

Haha, I've done that! I spend ages in the supermarket picking the perfect potato shape/size too.

You might want to go easy on the eggs - a 17 year old boy had three eggs a day for a week and got high cholesterol. But if it's just egg whites you should be ok.

I usually have oatmeal for breakfast, lunch is usually the same but can differ and if I could I'd have chicken stir fry with vegetables and rice each night. But my mum and I sort of cook for each other.

I like my Alberta Beef.I eat steaks, hamburgers, and beef sausages and hotdogs.Beef here is cheaper than chicken or pork so I eat it, plus I love it....Must be an Albertan thing, along with me being an aspie.Along with my beef, I would have various fruits and veggies....cherries, grapes, baby tomatoes, raisins, dried prunes, dried cranberries, etc.I like cherries. They taste good, plus they make it easier to go number 2  .I used to have the stomach issues and such when I was small.....and I have to eat certain foods to keep things going.

I'll eat one thing for a while, then I'll start with another thing.
