Maybe I'll just stick to things that are associated with Classic London, in order to calm down and keep calm. 8)

oh.. i left out an obsession when i typed the last post. im good at forgetting!

snd that is HAIR

i love touching hair / brushing hair /'platting hair. this has been a life long obsession i have particular soft spot for natural blonde hair or thick hair. the softer it is the more pleasure i get from touching it.

i still aleays want to touch hair but i have learnt more to resist the urge and only do it when appropriate. so when at home i spend ages stroking my cats and brushing them so their fur is all soft

Drummer_girl, You and I would have got along well if we'd met then LOL! I LOVE having my hair touched/brushed/played with. It's not blonde or very thick, but it IS exceptionally fine. Unfortunately, beung the unpopular girl at school, nobody wanted to touch any part of me, and certainly not my hair.......

A tiny little girl was playing with my hair once and I just let her because I was enjoying it and she was quite obviously enjoying playing with it (it is shoulder length.) Then her mother noticed and told her off so she stopped. I said "no, it's Ok", but she got the girl doing something different.

Last night I was thinking about obsessions that I'd had and I realized that I once had an obsession with the Pert Plus bottle when I was about 11 years old. I memorized the blurb on the back and the instructions. I'd call the help line on the back of the bottle to hear the automated answering service. How weird is that?

I seem to be somewhat unusual in that I have one major obsession that never changes and that I have had at least as long as I have been able to crawl. That would be dogs--anything about them, from training to breed history to grooming to nutrition to canine sports. My knowledge of them has reached the point where anyone foolish enough to mention them almost always gets swamped with information.

I also have several lesser obsessions. At the moment, these are evolutionary biology, grammar, mythology, sociology, linguistics, etymology, and Latin. In the past, they have been horses, wolves, Beanie Babies, skin diseases, abcesses, mental disorders, AS, anime, and Harry Potter.

When I was a kid it was astronomy, Star Trek, the history of the Civil War, and natural disasters and end-of-the-world scenarios (nuclear war, asteroid impacts, etc.). Now it's religions, especially ancient religions and medieval Christian heresies. I also tend to have science fiction author obsessions- I go through phases where I read nothing but a particular author for weeks, often until I've read everything they've written and looked up everything I can about the author himself. Right now it's Stephen Baxter.

stuckinthedesert, you reminded me of some other things.
Anything that will help me write even if it is a short obession, I'll still remember it later.
I occasionally dabble in religion or medicine.
Weapons is one that I come back to alot.
