Spiders with me..... They are just the evillest looking things when you see them up close imaginable..... I couldn't cope with living in the States and putting up with all those Black Widows and Brown Recluses and the like.... Shudder.....

I also used to have a big thing with lifts, but sort of got over it by forcing myself to use the things (being to lazy to use stairs helped too.....) I still think I'd freak out big style if I ever got stuck in one though....

I live in the States and the spiders aren't bad at all. If you want some really horrible ones, go to Australia. Redbacks, Huntsmen, Funnel Webs...shudder...

What is it with blinking Funnel Webs anyway? Their venom is harmless to all mammals except primates..... There aren't naturally even any primates in Australia, so why do they need to be able to do them in, exactly, hmmmmm? I bet the Animal Rights lot got to them and stopped them killing anything cute and furry with a court injunction or something..... Damn discrimination if you ask me....

Don't forget about white tail spiders

I love spiders.

my irrational fear would be rats and a general anxiousness in life.

My irrational obsessions would be triangles and the number three. Irrational because I don't even know what the big attraction to them is.

When I was younger I used to be afraid of the toaster when it had toast in it, because it would pop unexpectedly and scare the bejeesus out of me.

I'm still afraid of wasps and bees, especially when I think there's one near me and I can't see it.

I thought would be fun to bring this old thread back to life.

I'll add another one of my irrational fears. I am afraid of anything that has to do with vomit. I am always terrified whenever I throw up, see someone else throw up, hear someone throw up etc.

I heard something about a large, extremely poisonous spider In Australia that likes water and can be found in pools occasionally. Is there any truth to this?

I am afraid of vomit and vomitting.

I have an uneasiness around water, especially the ocean.

I fear falling and think about it FAR more than it actually happens (I have these recuring images in my head of me falling down some stairs and breaking my neck and lying there and people have to come and help me. The images of that huge CRACK! and the embarrassment are too much not to shiver at-- though I know if it really happened I wouldn't be worried about being embarrassed).

I fear anticipated loud noises like knowing around-when a fire alarm is supposed to go off.

I fear "the city" and driving there.

I fear getting lost while driving and never getting back home.

I fear new and unfamiliar situations with new people.

I fear The Ring.

I fear being sick, alone. Especially when I have a bad fever. (I always like to be with someone when I am sick. For some reason, I feel if they are there to distract me, I won't become as ill and they will keep me from "being lost" into illness. It is an odd thought to be "lost in illness". It is as though, in my mind, it is ever-permanent, like being the most alone one can ever be. Lost in fear. I don't really know how else to explain it. It's more than just being alone. It's being alone and scared because of being alone. It is like a mini hell, with me delirious enough to start believing it will never end.

Sometimes (Very Rarely) I will fear that the person who is calling will eb some bad person that will come and get me. and I fear that there is someone hiding in the laundry room whenever my parents go out. when I was four I had a VERY strong fear of free-ways. I was scared that we would fall off the sides. I even wrote a song

I'm standing on a cliff, but it's really scary, so i run back home to my mommy, but my mommy's not there, so I look in the kitchen but theres a ghost! OOO! so i go to my room but theres a bear! Growl! so I o to the living room and theres a scarecrow(or witch, can't remember) on my mommy's head.

I remember thinking that my mommy was coming out of the closet. needless to say I wasn't scared of freeways any more, when everytime we'd get on one, i'd silently chant the mantra "when I am five I will not be scared of freeways" (it was a few months till my bday) and I noticed the first time on one after my bday I wasn't scared.

Also I'm VERY scared of Elephants in tutus mostly pink elephants! If I see a picture of one or one is on Tv I get really freaked out.
