1.) How did you get here (to this web forum)?
2.) What are your experiences using the discussions, reading the articles and blogs? Are they helpful?
3.) Were your experiences on here overwhelming at first? Welcoming?
4.) How would you convince a fellow aspie to reach out and join this community?

Wrong way is the right way to WP topic
1) Plotted a course via Google co-ordinates. I have been here almost two years.
2) I check in everyday. Always something new and exciting, something to learn. The posters here are a very articulate, intelligent and entertaining bunch. I read the articles, but not blogs or chats. I use the sidebar to lurk before I post.
3) At first I was a bit intimidated by the intelligence of the posters. What a clever group. But then I realized I was on the same level as everyone else and felt more at ease.
4) I know only one adult aspie, who said he was too distracted to read and write on a website.

1.) A member I had met somewhere else told me about WrongPlanet, then I came, took a look and remained!
2.) WrongPlanet has been nothing other than extremely helpful for me.
3.) I was welcomed warmly by several members, and the only thing that seemed a bit "overwhelming" at first was the great volume of good stuff to read and begin digesting.
4.) I see no need to try to convince anyone to join WP. The membership number I see growing daily seems quite convincing all by itself.

1) Someone that was on a BPD forum with me noticed the misunderstandings so many of the other members had with me, and how poorly I would respond to interact with them... as well as how thought out my responses always were to things, lol, and asked me a bunch of questions one day via chat... and here I am. She said I should check it out, as it sure seemed more fitting.
2) Very helpful. I was very obsessed upon first joining, lol, but it has calmed down quite a bit. It was really nice to see other people having the same issues as I do, and it's really nice to have a place to talk about the quirky aspects of AS. You don't find that on many sites

3) Hmmm... mostly just welcoming.
4) Well, as I was directed to this site, I'd probably use the same way. Just tell him if he wants other people to talk to who are like him, to come here and see what he thinks.

1.) Searched in google when I was wondering if there was a forum for people with AS.
2.) Very helpful, i'm pretty new and i'm shocked how many people seem so much like me and reading how they get over the same problems as I have should be a help in the future.
3.) Everyone seems very friendly and welcoming, and i'm hoping it will stay this way.
4.) Personally I don't know any other people with AS in real life, but I would definatly try and convince them to join some way if I did.
Reading a post in another forum about Nikki Bacharach's suicide in Feb. 2007 got me reading one article after another about assburgers and led me to conclude that I probably had it. It was 14 months later that a dx confirmed my belief.
Just mention it. If he is interested he will show up.
