You can get a real university degree on-line

Athabasca University on-line

I do one course at a time. I sign up, pay them, they send me a box of materials. I communicate with my professor on-line or by an 800 (free) phone number - they're pretty sophisticated, since they teach computers - they've probably got every communication ever invented

Also you can choose whether to work in small groups like a real class or alone with the prof.

They are *so* helpful if you have a disability - I took my exams in my basement on my own computer with a supervisor that I hired - a local teacher.

Re having a disability - if it's for helpful stuff, I say it. But "disability" does *not* mean "defective" - remember that!

how much is tuition?

Do they have any sort of required internship?

I ask the 2nd question because I was doing college courses online through another school and got "stuck" because part of the program required an internship..... but it was near impossible to get one when you literally have thousands of students who you are in competition with for these internships..... I didn't get much help finding an internship either and they were, quite frankly, pretty cold toward the struggle. I gave up.

Career suggestions:

Complete the following sentence:
"If there's anything I'm good at its ____ ."
It might not seem relevant, career-wise, but it will lead somewhere.

Life doesn't come in boxes, "Poof! You are now an astronaut!"
Life is something that unfolds it's a path, relax, you're doing fine.
Just keep moving, keep getting new things into your life.

This is important:
YOU ARE NOT SICK!! !
"a severe case of it" - that's nonsense -
you don't have "a case" of anything, you're different, like the rest of us here

Let this doc stabilize your life - disability income, place to live, great.
- a solid base from which you can explore the possibilities.

thanks :) it's hard to get words like this from people who don't quite understand what I have to deal with..... most of the time I get a cold, simple, and ignorant "just do it". I've learned to ignore the people who say "just do it"..... because it's not that easy!! I suppose the saying is true. You don't know a man until you walk in his shoes. You all have been incredibly helpful :)

I forgot to mention, for Athabasca U, the term begins on the 1st of every month. So once you've enrolled and got your course materials, the course begins on the 1st of the month after that.

Dude...who cares what piece of paper you have?

the certificate I would've received for passing my lone semester in college I passed on cause it meant nothing to me. I could've wiped my *ss with it, in fairness.

Apparently, you have an internet connection. Well, if you're such a smart guy...what are you really smart in?

You mean to tell me, on the internet, there's absolutely nothing you can think to do that would improve your life other than coming here?

I own my own retail website. I don't need approval from folks in the outside world to do it; I did it cause I know it's my calling.

A lot of bloggers have their own websites...and they didn't ask someone else's permission to have that website go up, either.

Take charge of your own life, and don't blame a doctor not giving you a piece of paper for why you're not doing anything with yourself.

Just to give you an idea of how determined I am with my business, I've literally been on the phone with the IRS regarding an issue with our FEIN, and Ohio tax exemption. And no...I didn't call some local branch of ours: I was on the phone with the division in Washington, DC over this. For all I cared, they could've put President Obama or VP Biden on the phone...I had an issue to get worked out, and I did what was necessary to do so.

If you want something out of life, go out and get what you're worth. Pursue whatever means are needed to get it.

It's that simple.
