So...spell it out for me...what is the difference between HSP and AS? I haven't taken the HSP test, but I think I might score in the HSP range.
I read a bit on the website where the test is and see it as something that should be common in AS. But with 1 in 5 people being HSP, our AS number is much lower. So what traits/criteria are in AS that is not in HSP? I am too overwhelmed right now to research it

.
I'm not sure that "HSP" is really a condition (except for the doctor who coined the term) - but I can see how someone who is neurotypical could still score highly on that test, whereas people on the Spectrum are unlikely to score lowly.
Personally, my AS is not just about hyper-sensitivities - (and I actually have quite a high pain threshold.) The DSM-IV doesn't even mention sensitivity issues in the criteria for AS (even though I'm pretty sure we all have them.)
My AS includes:
* impairment in the use of non-verbal behaviors,
* failure to develop peer relationships appropriate to developmental level,
* a lack of spontaneous seeking to share enjoyment, interests, or achievements with other people,
* lack of social/emotional reciprocity,
* encompassing preoccupation with one or more stereotyped & restricted patterns of interest that is abnormal either in intensity or focus,
* apparently inflexible adherence to specific, nonfunctional routines or rituals &
* stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms.
I scored 21, by the way.
