I just did not know whether to post this in the parents area or here. I chose here. I'm not an aspie myself, so at least I don't think I am, but maybe I am, I don't really know, but my son is definitely and has been diagnosed as such. Of course, I already stated it elsewhere. Just letting you know if you have not yet read.

I had this odd episode with my son just today, just this past evening. We were at a dunkin donuts and got a dozen donuts. It is just something we do on sundays.

While at the cashier, I could see my son trying to stop himself from breaking out in laughter. He seemed to be staring at the mat on the counter. It had a picture of coffee with the word "coffee" going through the cup. The word was in big black letters. While the person got the donuts for us, my son for some reason broke out in a wild display of laughter. It seemed really bizarre with the girl at the counter turning around to see what the commotion was. I patted him on the shoulder and told to try to calm down. I have been this route before.

I have no idea what goes through his mind and my son can't explain why, but he has told me in the past he sees the shapes of some letters funny and can't help but break in laughter. He claimed to have been amused by the e at the end of the word coffee. Very odd.

Any have this exprience happen to them?

The Austin Powers Logo used to make me break out into Laughter. The shapes of the Letters and how they fit together, would remind me of his "Mojo".

I also enjoy reading the Guitar-shaped Monkees Logo.

I've quite often found things like that funny and laughed before, confusing the peopl who are with me. And truely i don't know whats funny exactly and can never explain but i do have this internal sense of humour where i find all sorts of things; signs, shapes, expressions, things people say funny but no body else does. This can be a problem if your laughing at a very inappropriate moment.
