Hurricane Isabel was bad here. VA wasn't prepared and one of the major tunnels got flooded. A lot of trees fell in my neighborhood; some into people's houses. (not mine!)

Yeah Juan was bad because Nova Scotia rarely ever gets hit right on by hurricanes, normally they are graded down to tropical storms by the time they get up that far.

The geniuses who manage the tunnel were supposed to test the emergency gate. Well, not only did they not the gate, they *welded* the doors so they couldn't be closed! D'oh!

Hurricanes I find very interesting...

I will attempt to provide live coverage of the next hurricane here with my webcam (as live as my slodem will allow) as long as the eletricity holds.

Hmm no I don't like Hurricanes at all neither do I like Twisters. Not severe thunderstorms but I like listening to thunder storms but other than that I don't have any interest in the weather.

I'm interested in ANY kind of natural phenomenon that's destructive and unpredictable-this is my top four

1) Earthquakes
2) Tornadoes
2) Hurricanes
4) Volcanoes.

The weirdest thing is that my brother got me a book called "Savage Earth-Earthuakes and volcanoes." I read half of it and stopped reading just after the tsunami section.

Of course, when I woke up on Boxing Day anbd went downstairs, that tsunami was all over the TV's. It was so creepy considering what I'd read the day before.

Ahhh! the joy of standing out in the back yard on a humid late summer evening, just to watch the clouds start to collide and swirl about each other.

I love the atmosphere that is pregnant with the promise of a storm, the excitement of the first tentative gusts of wind and then the lighting flashing in all directions...

I used to like to watch the hurricane forcast but after seeing what Hurricane Katrina did to the Gulf Coast last year, I don't like hurricanes now.

I am fascinated by violent weather, however, I feel bad when people get killed or lose their homes as the result of it.
