I think that aspies are capable to hold up a job, but it may take a little more time learning how to have correct body language for a good job interview and other skills like that. Eye contact is a little bit of a problem for me; but they did tell me that I placed in the top of their scores for my first (and only) job interview, which was a good sign. I also tried out for drum major for my band (I didn't make it), and I think that that interview also went a little downhill because didn't have lots of eye contact, not to mention I also answered a little too modestly when they asked me why I wanted to be a drum major. I mean, it was the truth, but I think I said it the wrong way when I said that I "didn't have a chance to be a band officer" (our band also has offices) compared to an answer I should've had "I wanted to be a band officer, but I thought that the band members should nominate who should be officers instead of members nominating themselves." (Since no one would nominate me for any job in the band, but I was well capable of performing the duties). Anyways, I think that the job interview is one of the biggest barriers for aspies for getting a job for some of us, but again I don't think it's impossible for us to get jobs. It's not being capable of performing the duties of a job, it's just showing the manager or the boss that you're qualified through interviews and then having good handwriting for handwrittien applications (since handwriting, to some people's minds, depicts someone's IQ subconsciously, according to what I've heard; it's more of a stereotype, actually). I'm actually currently trying to get a job; I haven't gotten a job yet, but I'm praying that I get one. I need chachings (money) for college funds and my band trip coming up next Spring.
