Portland, Oregon. I love that town. There's all these little shops to browse through, and there's the beach on the other side. There are also arcades, and my personal favourite, a small casino where I can test my luck. :money:

I would have to say Ingleton, a little known mountain town in the north of England. One half of my family live there so I used to go there a lot as a kid... good memories. That aside it is a beautiful place with dry stone walls, sheep, hills, valleys and even a waterfall walk! I would go and live there if it wasn't in the middle of nowhere! (I'm on a special diet and need to be near a Tesco!)

Scarborough in Yorkshire. I've gone there on holiday every year for years now, but there's a chance I can't go this year because it might clash with my A level exams. :( I don't know the dates yet but I know it's in June when I go on holiday.

Nice question!

My favorite place I've ever been on vacation was Venice (Italy) - this was a while back, in the 70s so I don't know what it's like now. But at that time, it was like being in another world. There were no cars there, very few bicycles. They did have big motorboats for public transportation (instead of buses).

We (I was with my then husband) did a lot of exploring the back side of town, where there were fewer tourists. It was so amazing to see people hanging out the windows of their million-year-old (exaggerated but) homes, talking to their neighbors on the other side of the canal.

I just loved Italy in general.

San Francisco, California- the only city i would bother to use capital letters on. the littlest big city in the world, or is it the other way? the city so nice, songs have been written about it. perfect weather- if you don't like it now, just wait 15 minutes. almost never too cold nor too hot. just right. a hip, progressive city with a smashing view of the bay. but horrible traffic.
wish i could afford to live there, though.

I lived in Chicago and I really loved it, but I still have many places to go. I like St. Louis too when it comes to the city itself and a few of the close suburbs. San Francisco is great. I also like Santa Monica and Monterrey.

Laguna Beach, California. There were a lot of neat little shops to buy jewelry and trinkets there, and I liked the clothing stores too. Of course, the very best part about it was the beach. Even though I had nigh-constant panic attacks the entire trip, I was at my most relaxed when I was right there on the shore.

Montreal, QC. I love that I can go across the border and suddenly everyone speaks a different language. It's great, because when I travel there with other non-francophones, everyone is as confused as I feel all of the time XD.
