I'm not too bad with clothes, but woolly stuff itches, rough synthetics itch, stiff labels itch, too tight and I can't stand it ... just certain materials I can't stand.

I have a hard time finding closes i like too. Its like they are going out of my style. I can't stand wearing jeans or pants that don't have any flare. they have to be flared or slightly bootcut. I love anything that is stretchy, and anything cozy. I love nylon and spandex too, and would wear it all the time if i could.

"I have more problems with the fit of clothing than the fabrics. Except I prefer softer fabrics and ones with less tactilly-noticeable seams. But I have bigger problems with neck lines and the fit at the waist and how long the sleeves are if it's a t-shirt."

Thats me exactly

the fit is incredibly important.

i also agree with every justin said:) and also only have a couple pairs of clothes i wear
very inconvenient, difficult, such a problem unfortunmately , to find clothes i can tolerate

yep i got that.

i can't wear shirts that are to tight, to loose, have places where the are stitched wierd, dig in anywhere, to rough, to short, or have long sleeves of any kind.

as for pants just mainly to tight i like my pants loose, i am now starting to get used to jeans which i used to hate.

my mom hates shoping for clothes with me because i'll turn down like 90% of the shirts there.

Actually, I like wearing lycra sometimes. The constant pressure against my skin increases my awareness of where my arms and legs are at. Otherwise I sometimes feel like I'm just a pair of eyeballs suspended in space.

My number one hatred is the thin, stretchy nylon that standard womens' hosiery's made out of. *shudders* :( I can't stand it. I can't even touch it, let alone wear it - it makes me feel sick.

I also hate things in general that are tight or fitted, although, strangely, the most comfortable clothes are ones that are a fitted shape, but slightly too big for me.

Exactly! pantyhose make me feel like I am walking around with powdery sand in my shoes (shudders). I find it helps a bit (when I can't get out of wearing stockings) to spring for the expensive ones. They still aren't comfortable, but they are marginally less awful than the cheap variety.

Fabrics: can't handle wool or linens because they are too itchy. And while I like the feel of silk blouses, just to run my hands over them, I don't like to wear them-- they are too light and they tickle. Also out: close-fitting necklines, tags, and anything that's tight in the arms or wrists (I can wear a girdle with no problem, but put me in tight sleeves and I feel like I'm dying). Synthetics (other than pantyhose) are a mixed bag-- most are not comfortable, but I can at least tolerate polyester. On a good day.

I've never worn them in my life - ever! :( I can start to feel a bit funny and queasy if I even look at them too long on someone else. It's like a phobia.

If I'm not able for some reason to have socks or just bare feet, I'll wear boots so that - with the longer skirts I wear - you can't tell I'm wearing socks inside!

Well I don't have much problem with clothing. I think less clothing is kind of good.

I hate really tight clothes (especially tight-fitting pants and turtlenecks), and I hate shorts/capris. I always wear loose jeans, even in the summer, and I always wear T-shirts, even in the winter. There isn't really a particular fabric I dislike, however.

I am new to AS, and to this site. This section made me laugh - another thing I thought was only me! I can only wear natural fibres - wool and cotton mostly. NO polyester, or acrylic. Many people are weirded out by my ability to 'know' synthetic fabrics, by sight.

My particularities are as you mentioned - I despise all synthetics, tight things, especially pantyhose, turtlenecks, and undergarments w wire or lace (I still wear 'tween' style!), and thick elastic.

Also, like many of you mentioned, I have a lot of problems shopping, hate fashion trends, and find it hard to find confortable stand-bys, as things go in and out of style. Do any of you buy multiples of items? When I find something I like that fits reasonably well, I buy 2 or 4 of it, for some reason I cant buy odd numbers. If there is only 1, I cant buy it! I buy 2 of everything at least, including shoes! Is anyone else like this, too?

I like my clothes to be snug with a lot of stretch in them so sometimes I will wear a stretchy polyester mix top. I just like my clothes to be tight on my body. 100% cotton is supposed to be the best fabric to wear because its natural and I hear it doesnt initiate B.O as much as the mixed fabrics. The only clothing I can't stand is ladies work/office blouses. They drive me insane with thier non-stretchiness. I'll wear any sort of pants. :)

I used to have problems with tags. I would cut them off and get holes in my clothing just to be rid of them. I don't have this anymore though.

I usually buy/wear colorful and soft clothes now.

I would say, I got accustomed to the clothes for the upper part of the body. ( I used to not like wearing bra's because they don't cover up the entire upper part of the body; like a shirt, it only covers up part of it. So it used to make my body feel lopsided. (Yes, I know.. TMI)

There's something that bothers me about clothes for the lower part, IDK what.
Jeans that are tight around your crotch for instance.

I can't stand denim. I think its because of the stiffness of it, even when its been warn out and people talk about it being "soft". Stiff clothing is the main thing I have difficulty with for clothing. Other than toe-socks, though interestingly enough not shoes with separate toes.
