I've gone through life with great difficulties staying still. Even with stimulant medication (Concerta), I'm still moving 99% of the time. In bed at night, my legs and/or body often move back and forth. If not that, then at least one of my legs makes an off/on twitchy movement. Sometimes my body goes forwards and backwards instead of side to side. My fingers often twiddle at the same time as the body movements. Is there a way to possibly overcome this?
Until recently I could spend several hours each night rocking, kicking etc. etc. and also have a lot of trouble falling
asleep. Given a choice of sleep aids to add to the melatonin I choose clonidine as it had the least amount of side
effects. They said it would give me triple benefit as besides a sleep aid, reduces blood pressure, and autistic
behaviors.
Since starting a few weeks back I hardly rock etc. after taking it at bedtime. After several hours the desire to rock etc. returns.
PS I like rocking etc. other than not sleeping.
