Is time accelerated for you in general? People talk about how time flies when their having fun. But for me time is always accelerated... it doesn't seem to slow down. Days seem to fly by especially if it's a routine situation. I see people beg for weekends to get to them as quickly as possible. But I find that weekends are here and over before I realize to enjoy them. Time just seems to get quicker, weeks tend to feel like days, months are like weeks. A year of time from my perspective does not seem like a lot of time. Things need to be different for me, for time to seem like its slowing. I hate it, I would like days to take longer, I have so much to do. Maybe it's just getting older and the responsibilities that tend to make it feel accelerated. But is this something that people with Autism tend to share?

I know for a fact that my time perception is different from others. I often have "awakenings" where I notice that a year went by without thought. I described this concept in a chapter I wrote called, "the conscious coma" because time flies and I am oblivious to it. This is odd because when I think of the future it seems like an eternity away, but the present is always zipping by at a million miles an hour. I'm curious as to if this time issue is common. thanks for sharing as I thought I was the only one!

I find that my inner clock is accelerated, and I look at the clock and find that it's an hour earlier than it is, in my mind.

Yeah time goes by fast for me.The last relationship I was in lasted for 5 years and it ended 2 years ago and time has gone by so fast sometimes it feels like we were never together I cant really remember that much about our relationship.I guess that makes it easier to be single for years since they just fly by.

I've noticed "time accelerate" recently as well, though I think it's just me generally being busier than I was this time last year.

It may as well have been January last week, as far as I'm concerned!

I think this is something that everyone with responsibilities share whether on the spectrum or not. My mum often says that she wishes there was more time in the day because before she know it it's almost dinner time and she's still got things to do.

My time perception is different from others but it's not primarily excelerated or slowed down. Sometimes I can be sitting in the same spot for what seems like an hour and in reality, it's only been 5 minutes. At other times I can look at the clock and then do so again 2 minutes later but 2 or more hours have gone by and I don't know what I've done during that time. Does anyone else have that experience? It's like time is literally vanishing.

I have a terrible concept of time. I keep appointments and plan journeys and things fine (actually, I'm usually early) but I have no concept of what order things happened in. I'll confuse hotels from different holidays. I'll forget what we had for dinner three days ago.

Time seems to go quickly all the time, except near the present. Days can really drag, but I'm always astonished at how quickly the calendar is crossed off.

I have the same exact problem. On weekends I become too aware of the flow of time and it kills me.

I had two breakdowns - in 2006 and 2009 where some switch was flipped in my head and I became ULTRA-aware of time. Both happened after traumatic events. Absolutely horrifying ordeals, where I was losing my sanity, as if the wall people keep between themselves and the world has been shattered for me.

The source of this, at least on weekends, is the mismatch between the life I am supposed to have now, and the life I'm actually living. A practically friendless existence renders life gray, and I struggle with keeping the torch lit.

Hello DrewMack.

You know, You may be on to something.

There are those of us who are coming to the idea (certainly not the belief) that anything of measure or motion are real and experienced illusions.

Things like Time. distance, Motion, Change and Choice.

Wouldn't that be something!

Time is just numbers to me.
I do not have a feeling so to speak for time.
I also do not like to estimate.
Which made me really slow at arithmetic and I wanted to do everything in my head.
But I really do not like estimating, and time is weird because I cannot sense it like space.
I can see objects changing place and being influenced by outside sources, but I cannot see time.
I can see the Sun's position 'move' relative to my position on the Earth and my length (If I were exceptionally tall (2000 meters) I would see much farther and the Sun would move differently).
But I can see the clock and see the hands and see the numbers and know the time.

I have some friends who enjoy fringe theories who are convinced that time, or our perception of it, has seen a rapid increase recently.

I've experienced a time acceleration, but I can't say whether it's objective or subjective.

I'm really enjoying reading peoples views regarding this.
Time is always accelerated for me. The only experiences I have with time slowing is when I'm in pain, or sick, and have extreme migraines. It's not the normal, so that slows time for me. If I travel to a new location, time does slow down for a few days, but then speeds back up to my current perception. Maybe it’s because I’m cataloging new information around me.
Some days, I feel I’m not actually here. I think that’s part of my daydreaming, and being able to project out of body. But I welcome everyone’s thoughts regarding this issue.

Time moves too slow for me. I'm always waiting for the hours to pass by. No matter what I do I always find certain times of the day where I'll be bored. I do like 10 things a day but I still end up being bored. I end up sitting outside with my cats to pass time. Time just moves so damn slow for me.
