Weighted blanket - what size?

For those that have made their own weighted blanket..what did you use in the blanket to weigh it down??

Mine has beads in it,kind of like the kind you use in a magic bag

Except you don't heat it up obviously

A mother of one of my mums co workers makes them

It's 18lbs and purple :D

It helps me a LOT

As for size,it covers the top of my bed..
