Perhaps you should drop some hints like "I don't know why I can't make eye contact." or "I wish I knew why I almost have panic attacks when I am around large groups of stranger?" you know something like that. :)

Sorry! She hasn't been online. And I'm nervous to suggest it, because every time I've told someone in real life, they laughed it off. I will when she comes online.

Hi Spazzer, I think it's a very good idea to talk to your teacher. I'm glad you're trying to contact her and I'm curious to what she'll say. Regardless of what she'll say, don't be afraid to ask a second opinion from someone else who knows about ASD. I know there are still many professionals with a wrong view on autism, especially about us females. I'm not sure if she is able to give you a diagnosis (I'm not even sure what an ed-teacher is ;)), but if you want someone to diagnose you, perhaps it's best to ask them if they worked with many ASD females before. We have some different symptoms than men (who are the majority of diagnosed aspies as you know).

Also, just be honest about what you feel. I know some females tend to try and give social correct answers instead of what they really feel. Don't be afraid to tell 'symptoms' of which you don't know are ASD-related. I know I told my psych some things which I thought were not related to ASD, but it turned out they were.

Take care!

Ok, I will tell her, I'll probably have to write it down before-hand. She has worked with many autistic people. But they were kids. And probably mostly boys.

It WILL. I promise. I actually remembered she's on vacation at the moment. I think she'll be on tomorrow night.

I guess I'm just being impatient. But do find out as soon as you can.

IMO, this is one of the things I like most about sharing with people online. They can't really laugh in your face like they can if you were face to face.

You: Excuse me miss special ed teacher, I think I have Asperger's Disorder,

Her: Your point?

That's how it'll go, even if she doesn't respond that way, that's how it will be in reality.

Well, I'm asking her right now.
