I'm too "addicted" to Autscape to skip a year, but I wouldn't fly to the UK just for Autscape. I'm combining it with going to some music festivals, and with hanging around London (my favourite city on Earth).
If you're so into Autscape, maybe you should consider moving to the UK. Just a thought.

I'm accustomed to the Mediterranean weather. I will not survive the winters in the UK.
Anyway - Autscape only lasts four days. Do you think it is logical to go and live in another country because of an annual event that only lasts four days? Isn't it much simpler to fly there every year?

Yeah, but I mean, if you're REALLY into it...

I might go, but transport is an issue, as I don't have a car, and it takes a long time for me to get from Leeds to somehwere just outside Bath.

I'll look into it over the next week or so
Megabus sells very cheap coach seats from Leeds to Bristol (via London):

From Bristol, it's cheap to take either a bus, or a train, to Bath.
From Bath, there will be a chartered bus to Autscape.

I bought a megabus ticket to London once, and the coach didn't even turn up. Besides, I'm not sure about taking a seven-hour coach journey each way

To be honest, I'd prefer to go to a day school, as it doesn't involve a residential aspect.

How inconsiderate of them. I hope someone sued them for that.
It was probably a very rare incident, though.

Will you be there?

Maybe. I live only about 15 miles from the venue, so I really should take the opportunity! Do you have to be residential there or can I return home? I hear places are in short supply, so it would make sense for me not to deprive someone who lives further away.

The main problem is that it is in the middle of the school holidays and I have to take care of my children for a couple of weeks, although I don't know the exact dates yet.

You can return home.
Being non-residential costs £80 less than being residential:
http://www.autscape.org/registration
It is also possible to attend only part of Autscape, or even just one day of Autscape.

True.

If you make it to Autscape this year, it would be nice to meet you again.

Not that I know of.
Feel free to make one yourself.
You can consult the folks at Autreat's mailing list about that.

Have you considered registering as a non-residential attendee at Autscape and sleeping in a nearby B&B?
It costs only slightly higher than residing at Autscape.
