I talk to myself all the time, sometimes to organize my thoughts, complete math problems, and to be alienated from my classmates!
the latter I did alot in my highschool, but my classmates got used to it... I guess?

Believe it or not, I didn't realize that I talk to myself daily until about 10 years ago, and I'm 52 now. No one had ever said anything about it until then. It's funny, until it's brought to your attention, you often don't even notice things that you do.

People who know me say they've learned that when say something they didn't quite catch, they wait a moment, and if I don't repeat it more loudly then they assume I was talking to myself. :bounce:

Yeah, I find it's easy to talk to myself without being aware of it. I sing to myself without being aware of it too. I'll often start singing quietly to myself when I'm walking alone down a busy street - to distract myself from all the noise of the cars, I think - and I won't be aware I'm singing until someone walks past me and gives me an odd look!

I have internalized conversations with my inner self extremely often. Sometimes I will even fantasize about having conversations with someone who is in the same room as me without actually talking to them. In my mind I simply mimic their behavior patterns and assume how they would respond to me during a hypothetical conversation. I find that I do this very often and I've even created my own fictional world in my mind with my own set of characters to talk to in order to entertain myself.

I do all the time. For me, it helps me keep myself under control when I'm having a moment, or 10-30 mins  .

I do sometimes. Mostly in my head. But I guess that wouldn't really count as talking to yourself, huh?

Actually I think that might be exactly what we mean, weather your talking to yourself in your head or out loud that's talking to yourself. Now if you were talking to someone in your head you don't recognize as part of yourself or if you hear someone talking to you when no one is there then that might be something else.

I talk to myself a lot then. Just about every day. Thanks for answering my question.

More times then I'd like to admit; always when I'm alone which is often.

Yes I do more so to help me remember things and or to call myself stupid if I do something stupid lol. Or if I have to learn something I read it out loud because I absorb more of it that way. But I dont have like conversations with myself if I do it more so in thought like going over things.

I don;'t talk to myself so much as I seem to be lecturing nonexistent entities on certain topics or on opinions I have on something. I suppose I do it because I'm trying to revise the imformation in my head, make sense of the opinions I have and/or express the knowledge I have on something without having to make those around me bored. People have caught me doing it before and it has worried them, but I make it clear that I know I am not really communicating with anyone and it's really to calm me down.
