As mentioned in another thread, the father's age has no importance whatsoever for you being an aspie.

Sorry, I think i posted the same poll the same time you did. I'm not sure how to remove it though. Our local paper had an article in which a scientist overseas studied the father's age and the rate of autism. In this study, the higher the father's age, the higher the autism risk. This was a scientific study, but it was done on only a certain ethnicity of autistic individuals.

I'm off the scale of this poll. My dad was 50 when he started me.

My dad had just turned 24 when I was born.

Yeah; I don't think age comes into it too much.

sorry I messed up the 46 plus option or it wouldn't take that many

so far with you makes 16 people voted and half under 30
50/50 split at 30 years old.

no problem 8)

interesting the way papers will print any study released by anyone with a degree in something

Today I also read about the fraud going on with colleges and federal research grant money. The government doesn't go after anyone, just makes the college repay the part of the money they used for other things besides what it was granted for

Which would seem to indicate that younger men tend to sire more autistic/Aspie children, not older men. Interesting.

Mine was thirty. I am the third child in our family. He was twentyfive when my mother got the first child.

(PS: I think it may have little to do with 'old' sperm and more with autistic men who may have their children later than nt-men.)

I read something about it, that this is actually the best explanation for it.
