There is no "cure" for Asperger's but there are treatments for problematic symptoms and behaviors. There are medications that can help with social anxiety, like Prozac. Social training and the right kind of counseling can help with social issues. You'd need a therapist who specializes in Aspergers in adults, not just someone to talk to. Sometimes there are group therapy sessions that can also be useful. Aspergers doesn't need to be a disability for many people, but for some the symptoms are more profound. Your post doesn't make it clear exactly how severe your issues are or what help you've gotten. You say counseling sessions, but don't indicate if they were the appropriate kind.
Many Aspies do run businesses quite successfully. Whether that's an option for you is harder to say. It may be you are getting bad advice, or even have the wrong diagnosis. Or, it may be that your Drs aren't really qualified to deal with AS and haven't given you the best advice.
I suspect that if you're willing to work on the social stuff and other skills you'll be able to do a great deal more than these Drs are giving you credit for, but that's just my guess.
