I think the Lady Gaga song "Telephone" is symbolic of an asperger person trying to engage in a special intrest but keeps being interupted by an ignorant NT.

I checked out some of the artists the OP mentioned and think a lot of it would fit with the new age / classical stuff I sometimes like to have on while I'm sleeping. It's a little too mellow for me to listen to during the day but to each his own. I suspect you'll find as much variety in music taste on this forum as you would anywhere else (I'm a progressive rock fan myself - classic prog like King Crimson and YES and current bands like IQ and Spock's Beard.)

Also I love tool, and many people have already raised the question that maynard may be on the spectrum, but I think he may have something else.

Well there certainly is a great variety in musical tastes among us - not terribly surprising.

Interesting the video game theme thread.

Here is my video contribution - one of my favorites,
what and aspie sees at a dinner party (if ever forced to go to one)

I actually went to see it in the movie theatre several times - dragged people that I knew off to see it as well.

I was really doubting there really was an Asperger's syndrome until I googled wrong planet for Koyaanisqatsi and up came a thread on minimalism that mentioned lots of other music that appeals to my aspie brain that only I thought I knew about, like Brian Eno's Music for Airports and Aphex Twin.

I'm confused. :? You're a diagnosed Aspie, but you doubted that AS existed until you found a thread about obscure music on this website? Huh?

Some very cool music posted, but I'm completely lost as to what the OP meant by this. It's not that I somehow think you owe me an explanation or anything, but clarification would be appreciated, if you wouldn't mind. PLEASE!?!? This is gonna bug me for days if I can't figure it out!

the favourite song of one aspie, could be the least favourite song, of another aspie. We are all individuals, and that's what I like, about WrongPlanet. 8)

I agree. I think taste in music is very personal, kind of like who you're attracted to.

Personally I like music that is simple and straightforward, like punk rock.

Classical music is very structured and logical, which I guess can draw some aspies to it.

I notice I have a love of repetition when it comes to music. I wonder if its an Aspie thing, as it's part of the reason I like videogame music so much.

Art has a way of making things make sense. Thanks for posting this video. I've read a lot of posts where people describe how socializing is difficult in part because of the multi-tasking required to consciously analyze interactions. There's a chunk of the video in the beginning which shows somebody scanning the room and literally analyzing each person. It's a very nice illustration and helps me visualize what people mean by that.

I mainly listen to video game/movie soundtracks, and I like songs that are quiet, but repetitive, like putting someone in a trance, and I especially am in favor of string instruments and orchestral music.
