I don't like inanimate objects that have eyes. I don't think they are watching, but I feel like they are less inanimate, than other things.
I talk to things often, but swear rare. Usually i say something like "excuse me" or "i'm sorry", especially to things, that are important for me - my favourite pen, netbook, etc.
One of our teachers said, this comes from deepest layers of our mind, from very old times, when all things in the world had own soul for people.

Yes; I do this too. I think this is why my employer put me on the night shift when I work alone...

My friend and I have a rule, don't talk about dream cars in the car. The car will get mad and jealous and start to break down. If we accidentally talk about other cars we pet the car and says Goood car... OK, at least a small part of us are serious I'm sure.

If you expect it to reply back, then there's a problem.

Otherwise, it's kind of normal when ticked off, for anyone, to do something like that. Often for comedic purposes at times.

That was a very derogatory or discriminatory joke. It is based on the misconception that "taking to yourself is the 1st sign of madness". i know sane people who talk to themselves and of insane people who dont talk to themselves. There isn't a black and white way of knowing if someone is insane.

i talk through objects, which happens to be a social anxiety coping mechanism according to Baker A. R. at an autscape conference (2009). i do wish people would make it clear when they are joking with an autistic as it resolve many of these types of confusions.

People are gonna laugh but I used to talk to pictures and to the television. When I was a kid, I talked all the time, non stop, to anything and everything. It's just that talking has always been a tremendous part of my life and it may have been the security blanket I needed.

Totally agree there, my playmobils do reply but im debating with them what to do about something. i often speak to them in the shower "good lexi getting a shower and looking after yourself" (to me playperson).

I constantly talk to objects in my work environments, cursing and cajoling them for doing unexpected things or being difficult. You're hardly alone on that score, and I don't think it makes you crazy at all

aye sometimes I do that...I like to call the old laptop a piece of **** sometimes and then for some reason I feel bad. I tried calling the new computer that, not the same effect...yeah I do that with other objects too more when I am mad, and I like to hit objects back. lol. beat em up sometimes...the counter likes to hit my hip bone and it really gets verbal and physical abuse for that.
