Perhaps this is true, but I don’t really care what that kind of person thinks of me.

I agree. If someone's opinion of me is going to be affected that much by the clothes I'm wearing, then they're not somebody I want to know anyway.

It can be both a curse and blessing, you may not be too able to keep up with the latest trends too well but, you may develop a tendency to pick out unique garments that most others wouldn't even consider buying. And it seems you will recieve many a compliment for it.

Then again you can sometimes end up purchasing highly innappropriate clothing sometimes. My personal fashion sense weakness is probably wearing cheap bog standard scruffy working jeans, as opposed to more expensive flashier, interesting designs.

a long-time friend had this huge reaction when i changed my hairstyle last year. this friend being my closest friend for 15 (woah has it been that long?) years. she squealed that this was the first time i'd ever changed my hairstyle. funny. i never thought it to be an issue. or any indication that there's something wrong with not caring about my hairstyle.

as for fashion sense, my friends trust my taste, more due to technical aspects of it, i.e. which cuts enhance what figure, what accessories match which style etc.

i'm often baulked at for wearing socks that don't match my outfit. but my shoes hurt that day! i've been known to cut up my shoes just to make them more comfy too.....

as for clothes, easy for me. black. and it makes me look slim! i just get tops and bottoms in black and mix and match everything. i have many accessories because i love certain patterns but i cannot bear wearing them for more than a few hours. i'm constantly aware of how they feel against my skin and give up eventually.
