A little distance off to the west. Say a few miles. They've given us binoculars and mopeds, so we can watch, and even visit from time to time, but gas is expensive, and the refueling pumps back home aren't always working at full efficiency... Sometimes they tell stories about us around campfires, but usually we're about as noticed as clouds - only recognized when built up to a storm...

I think we are the stuff myths are made of.

Buried underneath it.

It's a good thing that these mystical burial grounds eventually drive the dead to rise again and consume the brains of the living, otherwise they might forget we're down here.

Do you know what? To be honest with you, I don't really care. I've been in a good mood all week, so far and I refuse to get knocked down, by the self-pity of certain members.

We are strictly forbidden from going within a ten mile radius of the pole itself. Any violator will be mocked mercilessly until the day they die, then for a few weeks afterwards.

I like to believe I'm somewhere in the middle of the pole. I can talk to people, but I prefer keeping to myself.

In reality? I'm a teenaged girl who doesn't care about fashion/bands/hot guys/etc., so I'm not on the totem pole at all. At most I'm on the low end of it I guess.
