Maybe when my story makes millions as a book and I get a lot of money (Pfft! Yeah right!), I'll start something up...

Off Topic question:

KBABZ, Are you posting under two different names or is someone else just using the same avatar? I keep seeing your Avie with a different name, I think.

Ah, yes, it happened on the Corrupted Wish topic elsewhere. I wished that my Avatar of my version of the WP alien wasn't so fuzzy (she corrupted it by saying it makes the whole site crash), and she tried to touch it up. Being a JPEG, this had a limited effect. I'm still trying to get it to work properly, so any help would be a great, uh... help.

I don't think I'll ever use a second username, though!

As a relatively new Aspie,I must admit I find this whole AS v NT
scenario bewildering.
For a start,if somebody treats you badly then how do you know
they are even NT ? What if they are one of the many people going
about who have never even heard of Asperger's but may in fact
have the condition.I'd never heard of it myself until 2 months ago
but I can relate to all the symptoms. For all I know,in my past I
may have inadvertently offended Aspies who might have thought
'what a horrible NT' .
Apart from that there are NTs with other conditions that are probably
worse than AS, like Bipolar,Schizoid,Agorophobia. We are all human
beings and if you start splitting us into myriad groups then where
do you stop ? When we all end up being individuals in our own
personal group !

I felt the same way when I first joined, and at first I didn't like the term Aspie, but over time the name's started to grow on me, as has NT.

Beside's, NT is just a general term, almost one politicians would use because the term's just so broad. But basically it means anyone who doesn't have AS or any other major thing going on in a similar kind of way. For most of my life I felt I was what we'd describe as NT, only noticing a few minor troubles, so when these troubles were answered by me having AS, the switch wasn't too difficult. I can understand how and why some people think of it as a war/battle/fight/argument kind of thing, though. A good example can come in animals (no offense, but they ARE a good example). If people abuse the animal for most of the early years of it's life, they start to dis-trust and resent humans, and so stay away from them in fear. Happens to wolves all the time, I've heard.

If its evolution then time will do its thing.

As soon as I heard the term 'Aspie' I started calling some of my friends, who I suspect may be somewhere on the spectrum, "Aspie." One guy sent a description of what an 'Aspie' was to one of his friend and had the message returned "man, that is so you."

Homo-Aspien is next

We can't plan for this kind of stuff over the Internet. We need a convention about this. Would anyone be willing to plan for a convention for this kind of stuff.

I would but it would be a turn towards Libertarianism and not so much 'us' versus 'them'

Splitting up people based on aspie/non-aspie is the same as splitting up Asians and Blacks..

You never get anywhere with war.. Anyone obsessed with war hisory here should know that.. If we had learned anything from war it would be that war doesnt help (this does not include self defense)

Now humans are social beings but that reference is restricted to the now/yesterday.. Independence has many benefits, as well.. Social evolution may lead to that.. The Vulcan's did 8) .. Thats what this really is about, Vulcans versus Romulans and you know which one we are

well when i look at the avarage asperger, and compare that with the avarage NT, i see a much better person at the asp side. even if much harder to socialise with.

but lets create an extremist group sprung out of the radicals, and kill all people with mental illness without any pervasive one, so we look extra special. then make breeding programs so as to create as many asps as possible and flood the world with asps, to eventually enslave all the nt's. good idea?

How about we kill all people with mental illness so us normals look extra special, then make breeding programs so as to create as many normals as possible and flood the world with NTs, to eventually exterminate and enslave all those who are different?

Oops too late theyve been doing that for centuries :P

I seriously think that raising Aspie awareness politically is a bad idea. We should start it as a cultural movement at first, which then takes a political turn. Legal disabilities are for LFA, we can handle that ourselves.

We should style our movement after the Gay Pride movement, in style if not message.
A) Symbol to be worn(WP's Alien?)Early Christians had the ITHCYS(sp?) fish, that they'd draw in the sand that the other'd have to finish. A secret, covert sort of thing.

B)A stereotype. I know, that's the one word we all hate, but it helps things stick. Anyone who didn't know what a gay guy was, knew after Queer Eye for the Straight Guy came out. Who knows, we could even have our own show! Aspie Eye for the NT Guy(excuse the pun)

C) Some cultural icon who's an Aspie to 'come out of the closet' per se.

Those are my ideas, any contradictions or expansions are extremely welcome.

"Aspie Eye for the NT Guy"

Yeah I can see it.. half a dozen aspies sitting around quietly reading, the NT fidgets and trys to start up some small talk the others glare at him and one says "Your too noisey and its annoying" :P

Or better yet "What do you mean your bored? You said you were interested in cars but you've only been reading about them for 6 hours straight whats wrong with you?" :P

Or watching tv the NT complains he cant hear it could they turn up the volume and they all look at him like hes crazy "Its too loud already" one comments :P

yeah that should be doable. im certain several "icons" would be asps. or maybe not "icons" but at least acters and artists. also nearly all the "Great minds" of the past are said to have been aspies. that can be used

and then we can have all the "out and proud" aspies parade and show off their aspieness by holding incomprehensible mathematical lectures, and doing all sorts of rayman like walks and stuff....

and then a posiblility for everyone to play logical (or memory) games with aspergers, such as mastermind, chess and whatnot.

I like that one!! ! It describes how I felt through most of my school years, and even now to some extent.

Other "Prisoner" quotes I like are:

"I am not a number, I am a free man!"

"I am not a number, I am a person."

There was also a comment in "Fall Out" about how the "Individual has the right to be individual."
