Aspie_Chav, you might want to check out a book called "A User's Guide to the Brain" by John Ratey. It basically talks about how the brain is elastic and changable, retraining yourself to form new neural pathways, etc.

I will read that book next month. This month it is just pure mirroring maxed out to the extreme. The plan is concentrating on one thing at a time.

One example - I hate the way some of my friends will gossip and insult someone when talking to me, and then when they're actually with that person they act like she's their best friend. It's deceitful and selfish, and they do it because they want to be able to say the nasty stuff without having to deal with a fight.

Don't you also hate the way that all many people (especially women) seem to do when they're out of earshot of their spouses/partners is laugh at them and talk about how stupid they are? I don't know what kind of relationship that's supposed to be, but it certainly doesn't seem like a loving one.

I dislike female NTs even more than males. Fortunately, if you're a female yourself, it's even easier to annoy them.

Well, I don't think we should try to be more NT, maybe try to get the good aspects of Nts, that can be...

About the dressing thing, it is easy: just see fashion as a series of patrons of colors and shapes, because that's what it's all about. So yes, it's very possible for an aspie to dress better than an NT...

Exactly! Since we usually mirror/copy other people, why not just copy/absorb all of the good stuff we see from others, regardless of whether they are NT or AS? That way we simply improve ourselves according to our own preferences and desires. There are good NT traits as well as bad ones; similarly, there are good AS traits as well as bad ones.

Just like how there are good NTs and bad NTs... and AS with issues and AS with EVEN MORE issues! Just kidding, hehe

I am in Rome and I cannot do what Romans do. And my loneliness is killing me so much I have to do something about it.

Even if I did become like an NT, I will never become ignorant and narrow minded or lose interest in technicality.

Thats the problem.. those traits are considered normal so you cant be "normal" without them.

Its all or nothing. You cant mimic someone and leave out the parts you dont like.

Long before I had heard of AS but knew something was making me very unhappy...I went to therapy
asically, they were trying to make me more "NT"....I was told to stop thinking about everything so much...ie..."intellectualizing"...and learn how I "felt" about things.....I was told that it was very unhealthy to "isolate" and "spend so much time on my interests"....it was considered a "pathology" of my depression...so...I forced myself to watch "tv" instead of reading,so I would have something to talk to people about because they watch TV and dont read much....I forced myself to go to "public places" even if I found them "over whelming and boring....I talked to people....even when I found them confussing,tiring,boring.....After several years of following "the experts" advice of "how to be mentally healthy",I was more miserable then ever....I eventually came to the conclussion, that my depression was not being caused by "who I was" but "who the world wanted me to be and my inability to meet their standards"....so,I stopped, and allowed myself to be ....ME....

I horse eats grains and grasses....if you feed a cat the same thing ...they will get sick and die...I am a cat....I can act like a horse for small amounts of time but if I try to live like a horse..I will die....
