I'll have to look into this APD thing.

Is it part of ASD's or something else?

It CAN be something else, however a large amount of people with an ASD have it to some degree. The book I read was about a kid who DIDN'T have ASD, so it can happen.

I don't know if it is classified as part of ASD like, for example, dyspraxic symptoms (In AS) but I'm pretty sure it is known about in the ASD world!

Definitely, this problem drives me nuts in bars and some restaurants and helped derail my bar tending career. I sucked, since I knew the drinks and was good at the work, but if it got noisy I couldn't tell when someone was saying "mai tai" or "bud light", an embarrassing mistake to make.

I've only noticed this with music. I have to listen very intently (audiosnoots call it 'critical listening'), and usually with some, shall we say, herbal help to be able to differentiate between individual instruments, particularly when there's two guitars. AC/DC is always full of surprises because Mal and Angus are masters of playing different chords that often combine to make an illusion of just one guitar. It makes transcribing really hard. At least for me.

I can't see anything but the brightness of your avatar.

Oh. Sorry, should I change it?
