Does this happen all the time, or only when you aren't doing anything?

I constantly have a running dialog of debate going on in my head. Not like I'm talking to anyone, i know theres no one else in there but me, but its kinda pretending that theres someone else to talk things threw with. Like I decide if a person has alter motives, or if i missed something that was just said, or remind myself that i need to do something, or go over thoughts to come to conclusions ( this is the ones that keep me up at night). Its all quite strange, and some times scary. Sometimes i think my mind is just giving me someone to talk to cause I'm lonely.

Really only keeps me up at night once in a blue moon. That being said its always taken me a good 45 min to fall asleep and i have no idea if thats normal.

Sometimes my mind races with weird ideas. Other times I "forget" to think. That is when I am talking and then I suddenly stop in the middle of a sentence and there ain't no thoughts in my head. And then there are those times where I get thoughts that ain't my own. I hate thought insertion!

Are you always thinking?

No.

Occasionally will sit down at a desk with a pen and paper and think (prioritize) for ten minutes/whatever.

My thoughts are constantly racing, which I've always attributed to my anxiety. It's hard for me to focus on any one thing for more than a minute at a time, and even when I'm talking to people (or attempting to talk to them), I can't seem to focus on what they're saying. I've thought of trying Ritalin or some other ADD medication, but I'm kind of hesitant about that, since I've never been formally diagnosed with ADD, and I wouldn't want to take it without actually being diagnosed.

Yeah I can't stop thinking either. I even "think myself to sleep" at night when I go to bed. But I like thinking all the time

Is it possible to stop the thinking? My brain works constantly!

I don't even know what it means to stop thinking? When do people ever actually stop thinking aside from when they're dead?

During some meditative state?....aren't we still technically thinking during meditation? I can't meditate....never been able to achieve a meditative state and I appear to be the only person who can't.

Saaaame here. What's really annoying is when I say something that appears dumb to someone else but really I was just distracted by my millions of thoughts.

My brain never stops. Not even when I'm sleeping.

Once I learned how to lucid dream, my overactive brain took over and started using my dreamspace to just think in. Most annoying.

My mind knows better than to disturb me uninvited.

I feel as if my mind is racing all day long, although you would never know it from the outside, as I am dog tired from lack of sleep due to overthinking things.

My mind used to race constantly, but my medications have really helped with that. Sometimes I don't even think at all, and for someone whose mind used to never shut off, that feels pretty good. :)

I'm always thinking about something. I can only quell my thoughts for a few seconds.

I always think. I over think things and then think some more
