I did that as a child. I planned in my mind, all through the school day.

I planned all my days and when they didn't came like I had planned them, this was a disaster for me. Also, I have the same rigidity now as an adult, so it's Asperger related.

I was too busy staring mindlessly and being oblivious to the world to plan much of anything.

I love this website so much.

My aspie husband always discusses how he has to plan his day. Plans are ESSENTIAL to him. He has to know what time my children are going to come home from their dad's house. He has to plan when to mow the lawn, when to go to his office (he loves his quiet office on the weekends), when my daughter's company is going home, when I am coming home from somewhere, etc....

Reading these posts is helping me to understand what goes on in his mind. It makes me a better wife to him, and more sensitive to what he needs. I am so grateful for everything everyone shares.

Oh, I did this all the time. Sometimes I planned out what I was going to play, but never actually played it. For me the fun thing was the planning itself.

Well, I didn't play much with other children, I resented them and prefered solitary activities like reading, disassembling stuff, collecting/observing beetles, playing with legos/solving puzzles/building stuff in general. I had a vivid imagination and extreme scientific curiousity, which noone seemed to appreciate . I liked being on my own, to marvel at the perfection which is nature. It gave me an intense thrill and feeling of joy, that is forever lost in the past. What's interesting is that though patterns and organization was important to me, I didn't seem to plan ahead much. As opposed to my bossy (histrionic) sister who always was in charge when playing, and involved other people. My way of playing must have seemed rigid by comparison - because I never shared my fantasy world with anyone.
