I think that's true of almost everyone, including movie stars. The only time people look better in pictures is when they're taken by professionals with professional lighting and post-photo retouching.

i had an obsession with fashion for a few years... i watched america's next top model, canada's next top model, holland's next top model, china's next top model, australia's next top model, brasil's next top model, germany's next top model, britain's next top model, project runway, designerspirene, project runway canada, etc. (all series of the above, some in other languages with no subtitles lol).

so i learned some tricks that help me in pictures, but only if i have time to pose. you look stupid to the people around you in real life, but i you end up looking good in the photograph.

Yeah. I can't smile naturally for pictures so I smirk or smile without showing my teeth. I want to fix this before my friend's wedding next year so I don't mess up her wedding photos. I'm a bridesmaid so I'm going to be in a few of them at least. D:

I guess I don't know if I suck at posing or not because I never do...

Nor can I spontaneously place a non-genuine smile on my face.
My face in pictures accurately depicts how I'm feeling at the time.

im a NT and i suck at it too. it's just fake because you're making it look like you're happier than you actually are. it's gotten to the point where i can't stand to have my picture taken.

I
am
TERRIBLE at it!! !! !

In every photo I look like a goon. I always smile in a way what makes my teeth stick right out (even if I smile gently), and if I smile with my mouth closed it makes my whole face look funny in the photo, and my eyes are always glowing red....
And I get very offended because when others delibrately makes faces in photos they still look normal in the photo, but I daren't make a face in the photo because I'll probably look like the Elephant Man in it or something.

Its like a thousand eyes looking at me all at once, which means I either face the lens whilst looking at the floor and forcing my head back creating multiple chins or get everybody else annoyed because I can't face the camera long enough for the picture to be taken. Either way, its a bad pic, guaranteed. 8O

I don't know if it's true or not but do all Aspies have really noticably red eyes in photographs? Because I do in every photograph (apart from when I was a baby), and so does my auntie, who also has AS traits.

Recently I was in a group photo that was posed on a staircase. Everyone was looking down to the camera. I thought I was doing it right just by standing and looking straihgt ahead, but when the picture came out I looked ridiculous as I stood like a rigid stick, obviously uncomfortable with having someone's arm around me, and not even looking in the direction of the camera.
Ah, the surreal humor spawned forth from AS. :p

I hate taking pictures with people ... especially when they stand close or put their arm around you i always look like i'm afraid. Like the people in the picture abuse me behind closed doors or something. I am extremely awkward in photos and i hardly ever smile in them.
