Didn't say why -

Edward Scissors Hands - Edward was just being himself and in doing so revealed the shallowness and capriciousness of the world.

Donnie Darko - Everybody thought he was crazy, but he was just more in tune with something most people have no clue even exists.

Muppet Treasure Island - Non stop silliness.

What Dreams May Come - Well crafted study on suicide and love

Antz - How can you not like a movie about a neurotic ant?

I love a lot of different movies, but I'll only discuss my top favorites:

Alice in Wonderland (2010) - I can really identify with Alice; our coincidental similarities are striking. And I absolutely adore the Mad Hatter! :) Also, the CGI and costumes are incredible. I would love to visit Underland for real...

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) - Johnny Depp's rendition of Willy Wonka is hysterical! I find him strangely endearing in the same manner as the Mad Hatter. Also, I really like his hair.

Edward Scissorhands - As other people both on and off this forum have pointed out, Edward's character and struggles resemble those of people on the autistic spectrum. And Edward himself is extremely lovable and cute; the first time I watched the movie I couldn't stop going "aww" every time Edward was on the screen!

Sweeney Todd - Despite all the bloodshed and the fact that it's a musical, it is essentially a story about love, loss and revenge. The music is good and I love how all of the characters are connected in some way. Also, this is the movie that turned me into a major Helena Bonham Carter fangirl. Gotta love Mrs. Lovett! And Johnny Depp was great too, but that goes without saying. Once again, I love his hair.

Paper Moon--smart, sassy little girl protagonist (love films with strong little girls overcoming negative odds/abandonment/or bad parents

Frozen River--strangers helping each other (both single mothers from different cultures)

It's a Beautiful Life--simply amazing--a man keeps his child safe and hidden in a Nazi concentration camp through wit and will

Shawshank Redemption-- an innocent man finally escapes prison and changes lives with his wisdom while he's in prison

Winter's Bone-- A teenager tracks down her missing father through horrific trials that her meth selling country family puts her through to save her household and her young siblings from being taken away

White Oleander--a girl finds herself after surviving separation from her murdering mother and a slew of foster homes.

I love stories of overcoming extreme obstacles! Especially with female protagonists or children.

Gladiator because I have a thing for ancient Rome.

The Right Stuff because I'm a pilot. Mandatory for us. Also: Flight of The Intruder, Top Gun (shutup! :P ), Bat 21, Memphis Belle.

The Pianist and Schindler's List because I've seen that s**t first hand. It happened again, and only 15-18 years ago at that. People never learn. :?

Not a movie... Band of Brothers because (wait for it!) I've seen that s**t first hand.

Why?

Because I like the fact that natural enemies can still work together if there is a real need for it. And I've always been interested in anything unusual or things with special powers and abilities.

wait...werewolves and vampires are natural enemies...? you realize they dont exist right...?

Harold and Maude.

Why? It's one of my obsessions. I feel like Harold most every day my life even though my goal is to be like Maude. I think it's a depression thing more than an aspie thing.
