I voted and put other autism spectrum as the professional who is helping mainly just says autistic spectrum in regards to me and in my doctors records it says the same thing which he says causes a lot of my anxiety.I have my doubts about it.

I've wondered if I don't fit into any one category and am simply on the autistic spectrum, meaning PDD-NOS.

There's been a subtle shift in me. As a child I didn't talk much because I couldn't due to selective mutism (if I understand it correctly) and now as an adult on medication I find I just don't want to. I do have a constant inner dialogue though.

Self-diagnosed aspergers :) Maybe more of a PDD-NOS though, but still.

I voted HFA, the official diagnosis is Autism Disorder (Kanner's autism).

Ok, so I think many people say in their profiles, but I'm curious of a polls results :) Sorry, I know all diagnoses are not available on the poll...
Please just comment below if you want to add something!
Thanks!

ps if you believe HFA and Aspergers is the same thing and can't honestly comment with above options, please just put Aspergers if that is what you have.

HFA and Asperger's are different, as there is a signifigant delay in speech (often learning to speak at the ages of three or four years), whilst in Asperger's, the vocabulary and expressive language is signifigantly higher than most children of their age groups (that's how I was diagnosed). Anyway, I'm not sure what to put on there, as I am going through psychological re-eval, so I'm waiting until December (when my results come back) to see what I actually have.

Yes, sorry for some reason the poll wouldn't let me add any more options like PDD-NOS and ADHD, ADD etc., so I just categorised rather unfairly them as the "other diagnoses". Sorry to you out there!

Sorry, yes there is some confusion, I my self am I little dubious even of the speech delay theory- I have HFA, but experienced no speech delay, but apparently I definitely have HFA not aspergers..! !!
 :D

Most current Dx:

LD-NOS (I exhibit most of the characteristics of NLD/NVLD which is not an officially accepted mental disorder) Schizoid personality disorder with schizotypal and avoidant features, depression and anxiety. In the past....i've been dx-ed with schizoptypal pd (though I feel schizoid suits me best) LD-NOS or mathematics disorders or no learning disability dx at all on one neuropsych eval because according to the neuropsych who assessed me, both my IQ scores were too high to warrant an LD dx. On that evaluation, my VIQ was 155 and my PIQ was 111. Even the latter score is within the high average range, but both the gap between these scores and even more importantly, my very NLD-like pattern of subtest scores should've led to an LD dx on that evaluation.

I have never been formally diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder. I feel i'm close enough to Asperger's to warrant an official AS dx, but obviously the psychs who've evaluated me do not.

Dx'd Asperger's Disorder (should have been Autistic Disorder in childhood), Schizotypal Personality and Dependent Personality Disorder fitting profile of Asperger's, and Dysthymic Disorder.

Undiagnosed Anxiety and Executive Dysfunction, to name a few.

It wasn't in my case.

They really need a combined diagnoses, like inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive ADHD. I'm combined and I also have AS/HFA symptoms.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was 12, early in 2004, along with ADD. I think I was also diagnosed with Depression and/or Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Other than that, I'm pretty sure that I have OCD.
