Those kind of tests are total nonsense to me, they don't show anything clear.

Nothing is clear in life. You only get indicators and hints. So you can take life head on and risk crashing and burning. Or you can hold back, never take any chances and fade into the shadows.

If you crash and burn, at least you put on a good light show.

How do you define success?

For me, success is being able to make a living, and of course to some degree actually like what you do. To have something to live for, to be able to enjoy life, and to be happy.

Is that too much to demand from myself?

No. It's not too much. But you seem to be better at identifying obstacles than you are at identifying opportunities. God knows I've fallen into that trap. Having a reasonable idea of what success would be for you is important. "Something to live for" is one of those broad, difficult 'meaning of life" questions that can't easily be answered and often requires you go your entire life adding pieces to that puzzle.

Yeah, believe me, I am quite good at identifying misery and hopelessness.

Well then stop doing it. If you can recognize it within you then you can adjust your behavior. It's trite and cliched, but sometimes positive thinking actually works. LOOK for things that can move you forward.

Money (income) is something to live with, not live for. Just my opinion.

Stop doing what? If I was a normal person, I wouldn't have that problem. I can't pretend that everything is perfect, when it's not.

If you were posting on a forum where no one else was dealing with the same difficulties then you might get some space. But there are people posting here that have managed with autism AND survived abuse, co-morbid disorders, chronic physical ailments and a host of other problems. A common theme for those that overcome these challenges is to not submit to them but to fight against them. Part of that is simple attitude adjustment. If all you look for is the crap in your life and in yourself, that's all that you will find. It is absolutely true that your Asperger's adds significant challenges to your life. It is also true that this is unfair. And it is also true that ultimately the only one that controls how you deal with it is you.

So what are YOU doing do improve your lot?

Money is everything, and like I said, I don't have to be rich, I just need an income, so that I can actually do something else than digging for food and shelter.

Money is an annoyance. It is certainly not "everything". Thinking in such absolutes will bring you no end to misery.
