Today, the only ones that apply to me are difficulty initating coversation and eccentric personality. and I would also put aloof and overformal speech as "sometimes".

As a six year old kid and through most of elementary school, however, the following would definitely apply to me:

...wow, I was going to list them all but then I would be listing everything except hand flapping/stimming.

My main symptoms are literalness, failure to read body language, failure to catch intonations in speech (from others) and a degree of social awkwardness. Also I sometimes display obsessions with my interests and speak of them too often with others.

I'm answering this based mostly on what other people have said about my behavior, since that's usually what alerts me to it not being "normal". But I'm becoming more aware as time goes on, how UNaware of some of these things I am. So I might not be the best person to answer this about myself.

Speech and language peculiarities - Yes, so I'm told.

Overformal speech - Yes, so I'm told.

Taking everything literally - I think I do this more often than I realize. But sometimes I realize it. If you don't realize you're not supposed to be taking something literally, how do you know you do this? I don't take EVERYthing literally though. But that would probably be the point at which someone says they don't literally mean EVERY thing that I have ever heard in my life. Is this a trick question?

Word repetition (echolalia) I don't think so? I'm not sure...

Long monologues Signs point to yes :P

Inappropriate remarks Again, signs point to yes.

Inability to take turns talking I seem to have a lot of problems interrupting/speaking out of turn/having long awkward silences, so I'm going to say yes.

Inability to listen to others I think I listen to other people, but I've gotten enough complains that I'll say yes.

Speaking without any pitch or tone I've been told I sound monotonous.

Unable to recognize figure of speech or sarcasm I know what they are but sometimes I don't realize on a particular occasion until somebody else points it out or enough time passes that it sinks in.

Difficulty initiating conversation Yes.

Flat, cheerless demeanor I don't think so. But I've been told I present this at certain times, especially if I'm uncomfortable in the situation.

Loud voice Yes.

Doesn’t respond to name very well No, I respond to my name.

Inability to pick up facial expressions Sometimes.

Not able to notice body language Sometimes. It's hard for me to tell when I'm not noticing something I'm not noticing...

Does not pick up subtle changes in someone tone of voice Sometimes

Avoid eye contact while communicating Sometimes, especially when concentrating on what somebody is saying, or when I'm talking.

Unaware of personal space ( invading it!) It's happened on occasion, but usually I avoid getting to close to people.

Few facial expressions Apparently. Some people say I'm expressionless, others say everything shows on my face.

Unaware of unwritten rules Signs point to yes.

Social withdrawal Yes.

Lack of interest in other people I'm interested in SOME people but not most.

Eccentric personality So I'm told.

Preoccupied with their own agenda Yes.

Socially non-adapted personality Yes.

Urge to correct people in their speech or behavior YES.

Limited interests I don't think so.

Unusual preoccupations My preoccupations are usual to me. Who decides?

Need for sameness Depends.

Repetitive routines or rituals Isn't this the same as the previous?

Engages in highly repetitive play This is repetitively annoying. But I suppose so?

Excellent rote memory No. Except for some songs.

Lack of empathy No. Honestly I don't think Asperger's have a "LACK" of empathy from what I've seen and felt myself. We just don't demonstrate it in the way people expect.

Single-mindedness Not sure what this means.

Aloof I am not aloof, but people think I am. Fools. :P

Inflexible thinking I don't think so.

Lack of imagination No. Who says people with Asperger's lack imagination? I would say the opposite.

Indifferent Sometimes.

Rigid thinking Some people say so.

Lack of make-believe or imitative play No. See "Lack of Imagination" above.

Fear of changes I cannot seem to cope with change, somehow it leaves me psyched. I guess that's why I never met a morphosis I liked.

Poor coordination Yes.

Clumsiness Yes.

Uncoordinated motor movements Yes.

Hand flapping No.

Head swiveling ?

Mirroring Probably not, since I've heard this is supposed to make people more at ease with me.

Stilted Stilted what?

Doesn’t have a strong response to pain No... I am human. I feel pain. We are not made of stone :P

Extreme dislike of certain noises, textures or situations Who doesn't have things they dislike?

Easily over stimulated by sounds, crowds or lights Depends on the situation. Define "easily".

42 positive, and 1 to be debated. The ones I don't have are:

Word repetition

Flat, cheerless demeanor

Unaware of personal space; invading it (quite the opposite for me, in fact!! !)

Few facial expressions

Lack of empathy (I may have trained myself in empathy, as I don't seem to come by it automatically. I have to manually put myself in the position of the other person to figure out how they might feel about something, and I'm often wrong)

Aloof

Lack of imagination (I'm creative, and can write fictional stories, etc.)

Mirroring (not sure of definition in this context)
