Yes LOL, too fast for my own comfort. I'm actually fatigued by how fast my legs move but it's like I can't control it unless I try VERY hard. I was telling my mom about this a few years ago and she couldn't stop laughing.

Never for MY comfort.

I am slower now, but I used to walk AND eat [which does not depend on heeight[] faster than most.

My dad and I both walk fast. I never saw it being linked to autism.

I walk through halls 1.5x faster than the average student but climb stairs 1.5x slower than the average student.

I do the exact same thing! When I start noticing that my legs are tired, I force myself to slow down, but it's actually really uncomfortable to do that. So either me or my legs are uncomfortable, no matter what I do!

Aside from that, when I was a kid, other kids always made fun of me for walking stiffly. But I'm sure I looked just as weird when I purposely tried not to be stiff.

I always walk briskly, but not to the point of discomfort. I also have a very short gate, I don't know if that means anything or not.

In the mall I look like I just stole something and I'm trying to evade security. I've often felt I would break into a run if it didn't look so odd.

I walk fast so I don't have to deal with my family behind me if I ever go out.

Yes, it takes more effort on my part to walk slower. I notice that I also speed up when I am walking up a slope or hill.

I do have a idiosyncratic rhythm when it comes to walking pace.I have had former co-workers and acquantences telling me to slow down. All I tell them is that they are too slow.I didn't think it had any connection with ASDs.

Why waste time walking somewhere when time is probably better spent at location, even if you get there early, you can "scope the place out" or sit down and read. Get a feel for the place/atmosphere early.

I've always walked faster than most and I think its because of the above and also because I never really spent much time walking in groups... at group speed... I usually walk(ed) alone.

I can't stand walking slowly. When I'm stuck in a hallway behind a group of slowly-walking people, I just want to shove them out of the way. People always ask me if I'm in a hurry.

too fast for the comfort of others, maybe.

but that's just a result of lots and lots of power-walking. still, passing people is really, really awkward if you're coming up from behind and they don't know you're there.

+1 That always happens to me!

If I'm walking/hiking with other people, they complain I'm going to fast, but I also find it maddeningly slow walking their speed.
