Today is my birthday (no offense, but I got enough bday wishes on FB, so don't leave a post that only says happy bday).
For the past several years, I have planned for my bdays and had great hopes for how exciting it would be and how many people would come, etc.
Usually, it falls on the day of a big football game, during thanksgiving break (I'm a student) or during the week. So its usually not a big event.
I have been waiting for this day to end for a while. But around an hour ago, one of my friends offered to host a bday celebration at his house.
I am able to invite people as well.
Now I have new problems. People rarely show up to celebrate with me. Last year I invited around 60 people and only one showed up.
It was embarrassing.
This year between my friend and his roomates, we have a guarenteed group of people, but they are probably expecting more.
I already told my friend it would be small, but how small is so small that it's not socially acceptable (aka lame party)?
Also, it was kind of a last minute thing so he really doesn't have anything in particular planned. I hope he gets a cake, but he will be coming from a meeting right before this gets started. I'm not sure if he'll stop off before.
I am just very nervous because I don't wan this to be a social disaster.
Also, its the big 2-1 but there won't be any alcohol on the premises more than likely. This event will be later in the evening and I want to grab a drink or two after but I also want to get back home around midnightish. Most of the people that are coming will be at that same meeting so I can't really do it before.
Suggestions...PLEASE...QUICKLY because there is little time left.
