Sugar and ADHD - Sugars and ADHD

There are a small number of natural products which contain sugars which, for me,
noticeably temporarily reduce my abiity to pay attention, concentrate, focus,
and use my memory. Here is one of them: Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. Personally I love what the above natural product looks like and tastes like but,
for me, it does a temporary number on my cognitive abilities and energy level.
My sensitivity to some sugars/combination of sugars goes back to childhood when
I can recall attending some weddings as a child and going into a kind of insulin
shock for twenty minutes/over a hour plus due to eating a piece of the wedding
cake containing heavy, sweet icing. I believe my reaction was due, in that setting, primarily to the refined sugars vs other possible ingredients.

Generally it doesn't affect me all that much one way or the other.

Candy either makes me more tired than usual, or they make my stomach ache.

I think clearer with a constant stream of sugar, no hyper effects though.

I'm diabetic.

Too much candy makes me feel dead.

I love sugary foods! They make me happy. Only problem is, when I binge on them, the craving doesn't go away even when I run out of sweets. Right now there are no sweets in the cupboard and I'm dying for some.

It doesn't really affect me. I used to get a high of it, but I don't anymore.

It makes me feel kind of sick, honestly. That doesn't stop me from eating it sometimes though. Heh.

I don't like sugar in candies, lollipops, sweet drinks or cookies. They just make me thirsty.
Chocolate is bad for me. It gives me hype (high? I don't know which word to use) and cystic acne. I used to eat a lot of chocolate, but I gave it up in June/July. Now I feel better.

Nothing. I don't have much of it because I don't want to be gaining lot of weight. They fill me up and take away my appetite and then I don't want to eat so bam I don't have something good to eat because I am full. Sometimes it makes me thirsty but that is with chocolate.

I crave them when I am hungry but you know what, I go for something healthy instead and I don't buy many sweets or junk food or candy. I have nothing to munch on so I am forced to have something healthy to eat.

I was super bulimic for seven years so now I am extremely sensitive to food. I can not tolerate too much sugar.

I don't eat a lot of refined sugar, but when I do it always makes me feel terrible physically.
