I enjoy the spirit of the holidays even while alone. Besides. I am not completely alone with pets and family. What I mean by alone is not having friends or a social life. I don't know if I could handle being totally alone all the time.

Welcomed in the New Year and went into the city for a bit. Went to a bar and then went to the Square to watch the clock strike midnight and there was a party going on. Had no one to spend it with so no friends to welcome in the New Year with so at a loose end so just went out alone.

Happy New Year!

I listened to an audiobook and played Civilization. It was awesome

ETA: I guess I didn't spend it entirely alone, because I went to an open-house the family of a friend of my sister was having with my sister. But we left at about four and I went home, so I spent the evening by my self.

I had plans to go out for dinner and a party at a nice hotel with a bunch of my girlfriends who I hadn't seen in a long time. Unfortunately I had to miss it because of the stupid, stupid mistake of overdrinking the night before. I was so hung over that I slept through all of the evening and through midnight. I thought I had conquered my drinking...I was wrong. :(

Understandably, I felt depressed and ashamed of myself. I talked on the phone with one of the friends that I was going to see (one of my most cherished and closest friends) for a few hours and her nonjudgemental support was better than 10 new year's celebrations. :) I missed new years, but I went to sleep happy in knowing that a group of amazing girls support me despite my issues and love me for who I am.

I did, but then I don't understand why this day is so significant anyway. The year could be said to begin or end at any point. In fact, with regards to the scientific definition of a "year", one could say a new year begins every day, as every day the world is 365 days from being in the same spot in it's orbit that it was the year before.

Yeah, the Romans had it right, starting the year in March, to mark the time when everything starts to bloom again. It makes very little sense to start the year in the middle of winter.

I worked, which means busking. I misplaced my car, which meant walking a grid for a couple of miles until it turned up. I provided entertainment for an entire neighborhood tromping around in a tuxedo, carrying a tuba, and with a sword on my hip. Dinner finally happened around 10 pm. Then I passed out. I was technically in the house with my sister, one dog, two cats, one ball python, and three tubas, but I was mostly just unconcious.

Me and two of my friends spent new years baked and drunk watching road trip. I was like,"I wanna go on a road trip! I wanna get my prostate tickled!"

Spend it TOTALLY alone! Could of spend it with my parents but they were watching a movie that didn't excite to say the least.

I don't like all the fuss around New Year, but my mom always stays up for it, so I stayed up with her. I was super tired though. =/

Alone, but with my children. Every holiday for the past 15 yrs. I guess this makes me the matriarch of the Tame family. OK, so... not really alone.

Depends on who you ask...lol.

I spent the evening on skype with a friend. Since there was no one physically in my presence, most people would consider that alone.
