What sounds do you find especially annoying? Are they human-produced? White noises?

I have always hated anything made with the mouth that isn't talking or singing, e.g. lip smacking, chewing, and especially that horrendous, damp sound of kissing.

Ewww yeah me too. Metal on metal, porcelain on metal, anything really high pitched. Sudden loud voices. Auditory chaos and general dissarray.

I especially hate hammers banging on nails, and balloons popping.

Chairs being dragged across the floor. Balloons popping and people who eat loudly.

Certain people's voices...
can openers
fire alarms
Certain pitches of squeaking
air horns :wall:

Hated sounds:

- Gas lawn mowers
- Highlighters and markers being used
- Any kind of background noise at all when I'm trying to have a conversation
- Music where I cannot make out the words (which covers most of the last century's music)
- Chewing
- Car alarms
- Any unnecessarily loud noise -- particularly things like overly-high movie theatre sound, dishwashers, amplified car mufflers, fire alarms...

This list could get quite long...

-Someone chewing with their mouth open
-Metal dragging on metal
-Babies and kids crying
-Fire alarms and school bells

Yep, all those. Plus slurping, whistling, noisy cup-stirring (you know when it sounds like they are ringing a bell) - i.e. many mouth and nose sounds, as well as various other sharp sounds (e.g. some ring tones).

Dog panting and dog lapping water noises are annoying too. SO not just human noises. Then there are the sudden loud sounds - loud squeaking, train station whistles, ...

Crying babies.
Phones.
Alarm clocks (why can't they be designed to at least make a less tormenting sound when being startled awake is distressful enough anyway?).
Loud, exaggerated laughs, especially in a chainsmoker's voice.
Whistling, with very few exceptions.
Redneck and ghetto lingo.
Nu-metal and pop-country music.
Vuvuzelas (glad I hate sports anyway, so I don't have to be exposed to that trend very often).

I'm mostly irritated by human-produced noises: Coughing, singing or whistling in the hallways, finger snapping, hawking, sucking on their teeth to clean them.

There are many, but I'm always being teased for shouting "Shut up!" at the oven timer, microwave and phone.

I can't eat water chestnuts. Much too loud!
The thumps on the road when I drive. Way too loud!
Off kilter shopping carts. With their annoying wheels that produce terrible racket along with the jostling of the handle. Oh my!

And then the obvious: vacuums, coffee grinders, garbage disposals, etc.

Anything that's very loud, very sudden and without reason. Large parrots such as macaws and cockatoos will scream suddenly and I hate this, even though I like birds and in fact I have a small, quiet bird as a pet. That and I know that anything that is too loud can damage a person's hearing. I know people who are my age who have damaged hearing from listening to things that are too loud.

The three that get me the most are:

Rooms full of people in rambling conversation.
High pitched dog barking, particularly in doors.
The random high pitched noises I constantly hear (made worse by my tinnitus harmonizing with said sounds)

Other than these, I am not bothered by much sound, although I do flinch/cringe/grimace at most sounds, so maybe I am bothered by them but I don't associate negativity with the circumstance?

Noisy Chewing! drives me nuts.
I also hate, they cause me even pain to hear doors being closed hard, or closets being closed in the same way. I totally hate Harley Davidson bikes doing so much noise, they hurt.

And what I hate the most, with all my heart, is going to the movie theatre and hear everyone chewing popcron and making noise with their fingers when trying to grab a handful of popcorn. GRRRR That's why I avoid going to movie theatres, among other reasons.

Babies crying/children screaming
Dogs barking
Fire alarms
Balloons popping
Plates and silverware clacking/scraping against each other
