Researching Asperger's Syndrome. I've been categorizing symptoms based on their social vs mental aspects, and talking my friends into taking AS tests with me to help control for a 'self-diagnosing bias'.

Designing paper models of buses. I've finished at least twelve so far this year alone. I've completed at least a hundred more back in 2009 and 2010.

Self examination, introspection, self-improvement, and psychology have always been one of my primary sources of special interests. My current special interest is Asperger's Syndrome itself.

The desu meme, around 4-5 months ago. It's quite a funny story. I wanted to find out what the "DESU DESU DESU x 90000" thing was all about. It quickly became my favourite meme because at times, I like saying "and stuff" at the end of a lot of my own sentences desu.

Menstrual health, or more general women's health and sexual health.
A life-long 'thing' for leaflets always seems to persist in some form or another.

My Boyfriend; "You're interested in me, and I'm special"

There is actually a difference between a special interest/obsession and just something you generally like or enjoy or want to do. I always thought an obsession or special interest was something you can't stop thinking about, and that you try to make sure nothing else is as important as this particular interest.

That's true, in principle, but for me, the line between just liking something and obsessing about it is razor thin.

I watch four different episodes a day. Two that I download and two that keep repeating themselves everyday on SciFi.
It's not just Atlantis. I watch SG-1 too and Universe will be repeating soon.
It is pretty much all I think about and I've got to say sometimes I do lose touch with reality.

I remember not long ago it was a TV show I watched and the movie was probably my favourite movie I watched as a child. Now it is so much more.
I've just started to collect the action figures too.

transport systems and urban landscapes seem to have paid a return visit as a double. I used to be into the nasty concrete brutalist stuff, these days my tastes are more erm tasteful. I don't get so cross about the thought of a pedestrian subway getting filled in, high rise flats being demolished or even, god forbid, a multi-level intersection getting flattened out.

Kind of weird/stupid, but I've been obsessing over the Dunmer in the Elder Scrolls universe, and a few specific characters.

I am obsessed with finding a new societal system.
Communism, Democracy, Monetary based systems, Resource based systems, socialism, dictatorship, monarchy, These are all different aspects.

I am looking for a system which has different aspects, not necessarily from any of these concepts, which will greatly benefit all people. A concept of a new society with the values of social justice.

I am looking into the Venus Project. I want to know if it is suitable.

On a side note. I wonder if any of these societies will be beneficial for people with Autism.

The earliest obsession I can remember having was dinosaurs as a young child. Since then I've switched from astronomy, to Lord of the Rings, to parrots... Currently, my life revolves around college and it's definitely my major obsession. Neurobiology and chemistry are what interest me the most. As mentioned above, I think that my new AS diagnosis is also a minor obsession for me, too.

Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter.

It technically began about a year ago when I started obsessing over certain movies that Tim directed (a few of which Helena starred in): Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and (especially) Alice in Wonderland. Throughout the year, I was mostly focused on the fictional characters within the movies and making up my own stories about them. I researched information about Tim and Helena on the side (and Johnny Depp too, which turned into a fairly brief obsession due to the fact that he was the leading man in the four movies I was passionate about).

While researching Tim and Helena, I went in and out of obsessing over them. This time it's come back so strongly that it's actually eclipsed my obsession with the movies that got me interested in them in the first place. I think about them constantly and I sometimes have dreams about them at night.

At the suggestion of my father, I have begun following them on Twitter. I'm waiting for a good opportunity to contact them. Most people tell Tim "you're my idol" and most people tell Helena "you're so beautiful", so I've got to say/do something a little more creative to make me stand out to them. I've got the perfect thing in mind: I am drawing them a picture. I spent roughly 6 and a half hours working on it today and it's not even close to being done. That's a lot more effort than I put into most of my drawings.

The reason I am doing this is because I want to prove to them that I don't just want to be their fan, I want to be their friend. I read a story in one of Tony Attwood's books about a woman with Asperger's who was obsessed with a certain celebrity and actually managed to become his friend, to the point that he actually let her stay at his house. That's the kind of connection I'm hoping to achieve with Tim and Helena.

My latest one is morbid but I try to raise awareness of unidentified Jane Does. I've made 18 videos so far on youtube.
I try to find out why I am drawn to each obsession, and this one I think is because I have no friends and am maybe feeling connected to these women and am trying to help them without the fear of them contacting me for thanks.

Pigeons. Homing and racing pigeons specifically, as well as husbandry/keeping of the birds, breeding and training them.
I've bought some books on the subject recently, and started planning for an aviary in the yard. I thought about hooking up with a local club, maybe the people there will be a little off-centre as well, but as it probably requires being social I'm not sure.

I've recently become obsessed with Bobby Driscoll, who was a famous child star for Disney in the late '40s and early '50s. He died at the age of 31 from heart failure due to long-time drug abuse. It was very tragic.
