About 56 cm. Is that big for 14 years old?

Well its common in people with autism (around 75% of them) to have abnormally rapid brain and head size growth immediately after birth. Around age 12 those with a normal growth rate catch up so after that there really is no difference.

Or at least thats what they are claiming.

Mine is 61 centimeters. I must be the queen!

Either that, or I just have a big head for a small woman.

Look at it this way, a big brain needs a big cranium to house it.

Reminds me of the 19th century italian doctor who connected head size to a tendancy towards criminality. Believing the larger headed people to be modern day decendants of unevolved neandertales or apes and having animalist tendencies towards criminality and non-civilised practices.

Then again when you read up on the physical signs people look for to determine if there is retardation in a person you can see that it built on from this kind of mentality.

In current US Sizing, I wear a 'Large' sized hat. In European sizes, I wear a size 59 which I believe corresponds to circumference in centimeters.

What, is phrenology making a comeback!? :?

I have a large head. However, it runs in the family. My dad is entirely NT and our heads are about the same. His side of the family, pretty much, have big heads. I'm not sure about my brother, but he's atypical in a lot of ways compared to the rest of the men in the family (slender as opposed to brawny, etc.).

American hat size is about 7 7/8. I don't know what that is in centimeters. Basically, most lines of hats don't have that size. But again, runs in the family and I'm the only Aspie I know of.

the theory is interesting, because there is proof that the autistic brain has an abnormaly large frontal lobe. which would mean that it is the forehead that increases the measurement, but the skull would decrease, or even elimanat the obstruction
anyway i am 12 years old, and four foot five inches tall. my head is only 22 inches (that is WEIRD!! 22 is my lucky number!) :!: :!:

I wear European size 62. If I Recall correctly, that means my head has a circumference of about 62 cm.

I actually had to measure all four sides, then take the average, use that for a radius, double and multiply by Pi!

Mine is 60. That's big for a woman...I usually can't wear women's hats unless they're stretchy, like knit hats. But that site is talking about kids' heads that grow abnormally fast. Someone's head could reach the same circumference over a longer period of time and still have a large head.

As a baby my head was pretty big. This baby is me at 14 1/2 months. I guess my head was big and wobbly then (as you note in that image) which resulted in me not finding it all that easy to hold my balance. So I could not walk without relying on anybody holding my arms or grabbing on to furniture until I was at least 17 months.

Now my head is pretty much normal size at 58cm

I have a rather smaller than average head. When I was horseback riding, I had to special order my helmet, and regular women's hats are too large for me.

My head is 21 inches (which is 53.34 centimeters), though I have slightly puffy hair, and that measurement is OVER my hair, so I guess it's slightly less than that in reality.

I'm 5'3" and 27 years old, for the record.
