I talk to myself when I'm focuse don a specific task. Eh hem...like....painting or making music.

Its ridiculous comments too like:

"Oh that's some s**t fool" when making music...don't ask why I go ghetto when I make music and I make electronic music

"What now, what now you're going to get painted," when painting

I even go on long long monologues about what I am doing.

I talk to myself all the time. I explain that it helps me think when asked about it. :D

I do this a lot, usually when I'm working on something or doing something, I'll talk to myself or inanimate objects. Usually not very loudly, but people still tend to look at me really weirdly.

i prefer to call it 'thinking out loud', personally. It helps because i started doing comedy recently, so now its usually practicing that. or you could just say you're learning lines to a play or something :p

I definitely talk to myself. I usually do it when I'm by myself, but sometimes if Iget nervous or excited, I'll mumble to myself in public. A lot of the time I do it while pacing

I know what you mean. Most people are such boring and repetitive conversationalists. :\

Not in the presence of others unless I happen to lose control of myself as I slip into a complex thought process and start pacing about voicing my thoughts.
And even then it doesn't take me long to realise and correct myself, i.e. start talking in a fashion that gives the impression that I'm talking to the other people present.

On my own then yes I talk to myself all the time when I think I'm alone, I also talk to inanimate objects too, animals, plants, the sky, I don't mind talking to anything.
There have been a few times when I have enjoyed the conversation I had with the kettle as it bubbled in response.

Both Einstein and Andy Warhol reportedly had entire conversations with themselves. They were considered geniuses...

I have whole conversations with myself in my room on a regular basis. I try to record these on camera but it's hard to sit in one place and talk. When I talk, I either stim or pace.
