I'm brand new to this website. I'm not diagnosed with AS but am diagnosed with ADHD and I'm pretty sure I'm bipolar too.

This place seems awesome and welcoming. Now for the topic: I've never thought I had ADHD, but I do have some of the basic characteristics. I do have the wierdest brain imaginable, where it feels like my mental storage space is an attic with boxes of different information scattered about. When going from one topic to a new one, I have to backtrack to a "origin spot" which is sort of a neutral point, before I can go on to another topic. I'm very disinterested in Petty topics, like cell phone plans and gossiping, and like most people I've seen here am mostly incapable of small talk, and in some cases cant follow a NT conversation, because at some point or another I walk off and find something more interesting.

I have been told I'm manipulative, but really I don't mean to by any means. My wife is the same way, and when we talk we come off as fake or acting, when really its just how we communicate.

SO, is any of this normal? Am I just a wierdo, or is this something generally common? :?

welcome to wp

some of it's normal in aspies, some isn't, generally aspies know they are different, in fact people are quite willing to say that to aspies. because you know/suspect your aspie it is likely you will have gone through a "emergence" of puzzling out if you are AS. That's why it is excepted in wp that undiagnosed aspies and diagnosed aspies have all gone through the "great puzzle" the obsessive need to establish the condition in ourselves, it's something we have in common and why undiagnosed aspies and diagnosed aspies except each other, finding someone of their kind.
Hang around the forums a while if you see subjects that you relate to then, well!! !! !!
